"which is hard for me to understand, given the fact that I am awesome." This is fantastic. I shall shamelessly (and ironically, given the video) steal this to characterize how I feel about my spouse leaving me after 15 years.

The most amazing part that I respect her for is she didn’t dis her ex either. She respected both him and herself, which is how i feel all matured people should be like getting out of a relationship(unless one is obviously toxic Ofc)

I remember shedding a tear the first time I saw you tell this story, I was so caught up in the sentiment of the the story, but then laughed with tears in my eyes when your dad said you were not allowed Mr. whippy ice cream again. Who else ,can at a comedy show, can make you genuinely cry with a story, then laugh so heartily at the end. Only you Sarah, only you, the real queen of comedy.xxxxxx

a very poignant moment, the depth of the loss, life is sweet for a little while, and then you find out Maggs Thatcher help create Mr. Whippy, Bittersweet life is bittersweet, but easier to take when a lovely lady tells you about it. I'm saving all these to my very own Sarah Playlist so when I need a pick-me-up, she'll always be there.

That was a lovely story. Thank you. This is tangential, but it reminded me of my late wife, as do you, a bit. She also could tell a good story tell us, in your relationship, did you have secret words that only the two of you share? My late wife and I met on the internet, and since most of our communication was via text, there were sometimes shorthand words that we used that triggered a feeling or situation. For example, we had a five-letter word for sex; a random nonsense word you'd not find in any dictionary.

Sara I had tears running down my face before you got to the hilarious punch line - I felt your pain in your voice. You are awesome ! Your 1st man was meant to direct you along your life for seven years but not forever. Your Dad and lovely new man have carried on since then and they will love you forever. I hear what you say re: Maggie Thatcher. Not only did she close the pits in the north east of England she also closed the ship yards 6000 men lost there jobs in Swan Hunters shipyard in Wallsend alone. Destroying the lives of the the men and their families as well as the satellite businesses in the Newcastle area. Sheer devastation. Your Dad was right never have Mr Whippy again. Love your shows and love you to Sara - you are awesome!!! I have never laughed so much at a comedian since Billy Connolly. ✨🌟

By the time I got to this moment, I'd already watched a few of her shows. I would say I was a Sarah Millican fan. But this story? Just brilliant. She's a storyteller. She brought me near to tears and then hit me with a laugh, and I could feel that extra bit of joy from the surprise of it. It's a vulnerable moment to share. I'm so glad you did, Sarah.

Oh, that was lovely. The tension was building for so long, I wondered if it would pay off.. and it most CERTAINLY did. Steve Martin wrote eloquently about the tension release in comedy in his book "Born Standing Up", but even he could learn something from this brilliantly constructed joke.

My husband gave me a poem when we were dating and it was so sweet. Nobody had ever written me a poem either. Flash forward a few years, when we have three small children and I’m nearly losing my mind from exhaustion. My husband shows me his old notebook, with dates at the top of each page, and in case I missed the point he tells me he never wrote my poem for me. He wrote it for his ex and he didn’t tell me this because we were fighting or not getting along. He just wanted me to know I wasn’t special.

One thing I really love more than anything is when a comedian can get a very raw and heartfelt moment. Joan Rivers used to do that when she talked about Edgars death and every time she’s tell it, brought a tear to my eye. And then she’d say something hilarious and it took that pain away.
