Nice video. Maybe worth mentioning that not quite all infinitives end in 'ć'. e.g. móc, biec. Maybe Polish native speakers don't notice this 🙂 (just as there are countless features of every language which native speakers don't notice).

I don't notice a difference between cz and ć, and between sz and ś.
@polishwithblondes
@polishwithblondes Жыл бұрын
yes, they're very similar! So with cz and sz, the tongue has more of a rounded shape and touches the front teeth slightly. With the softer sounds: ć and ś, the tongue is completely flat and our side teeth are pressing on it. Also, try thinking about it this way: the English "sh" is in between sz and ś. And the English "ch" is between cz and ć. Hope that this helps you understand the difference better!

Szanowna Pani! Dlaczego WSJP jest określony mianem "Welki"? Autorzy tego słownika sami siebie chwalą, uważając go za słownik, stworzony przez wielkich naukowców? Czy w tej nazwie wyrażenie "wielki" jest użyte leksycznie prawidłowo?

@@polishwithblondes chodzi o to, że wielki to znaczy (w tym przypadku) niejako wynik pracy wybitnych naukowców. Duży to już jest coś zupełnie innego, coś większego, obszernego I t.d.

We don't really use 'v', unless it is a foreign word that we borrowed directly from, for example, English, but it is not common at all. We pronounce 'w' as you would pronounce 'v' in English.
