P.W having survivor’s guilt is a really good explanation why he had the strongest urge to go back to the factory and just needed the push from poppy(?). Poppy playtime is getting really solid with their storytelling element, giving just enough information but not as confusing as my beloved fnaf timeline. It looks like the story was written and finished before the games were made, i like it.

Survivors guilt? Push from Poppy? Or fear of being found out and that tape was a threat? Like it says in the book, they recorded everything and people started recording over the tapes and making copies, trying to get the word out. In the book, he worried that they’d be found out eventually. We, as the player, want to believe he’s motivated by guilt. This book suggests that he might be motivated more by self-interest/fear of being found out. 🤔

@@satsujin-shathewitchkingof6185 is he really a good person? he is actively involved in turning children into monsters for a company's profit. he is hurting children, and he is doing it repeatedly. on every single morning when he worked at playcare, he chose to harm children that day. he chose to bribe the cops to prevent anyone from looking too closely at playcare and to keep them from investigating. he chose to go to meetings where the construction of new holding rooms AKA prison cells was reviewed. the fact he might care about his coworkers doesn't somehow overcome or erase everything he knowingly chose to do.

He's "retired", and he's even letting himself swear just a little bit, no "F bombs" but he's not holding himself back so much anymore. I think he's decided to enjoy himself as much as he can before he eventually lets this channel go. I wish he would do a few more collabs.I know he has issues letting go of his control. Honestly, the MC reads (in this book) more as a higher management type that got in way over his head and was failing to make a difference while working in the company. Those are the Company-safe words of someone in upper management going "I know all you care about is profits and business things, but if you're going to use the tech we made for all this stuff, we've got to do things better." It sounds like some serious engineer's guilt and survivor's guilt characterization. They're still probably bad because they should have done something drastic the instant they got the hint, but it reads more like a tragedy than just plain mustache-twirling evil.

Just a thought, that someone may have already mentioned - in PW's note to management about the deaths of the 6 workers when Catnap escaped, calling them "resources" - remember, he was writing a note to Management. He was quite possibly just trying to put it into terms that Management would understand. They don't care that people died - they care that resources are being wasted. ;) So calling them resources isn't necessarily a slam on PW's character, and the rest of the note kind of reinforces that. He doesn't want to see any more friends die, but to convince management, he tries to sell it as "wasting resources"

Fire destruction is also a Requirement for many BIO-waste, which would make sense as the toys are filled with bio (human) parts/waste. If next level is about the labs, we could be seeing more human remains (or insinuations) as they become the toys, but also how they would be disposed of if they didn't work. Poor kids, if they lived through the gas and transplants, if they weren't good enough, they would be incinerated afterwards as well 😢

Imma be honest, I got the book just so I can see the stuff it had to say about the critters and the cartoon it came with. It wasn't much, but I was so happy with what was given. Apparently, CatNap was also the reason the cartoon did badly and it was mainly due to him being mute and distant from the others, which ironically is something we all love about him!

I'm pretty sure P.W was speaking in that way of like "human resources" and losing assets instead of people, because he was begging his superiors for help, for them to stop, and he already knows they don't have remorse, so the next best way to show how much of a loss it is, is to persuade them in the language they do care about, numbers, statistics. Maybe P.W stayed because they told him someone worse than him will take his place, maybe he stayed out of spite. I like putting myself in other people's shoes, especially things like these, and I can see exactly why P.W would do this, he kind of had no choice. It was suffer himself, or let someone else suffer (his replacement) and also have the stress of what if they take enjoyment out of this, and do things worse on purpose.

I think what the “park” may be referencing is a sort of theme park that was alluded to in chapter three. Right before getting onto the rail thing for playcare there are posters up describing a theme park (I don’t remember the title of it but I know there’s a roller coaster on the poster) in the factory!

25:00 i think that is mostly correct, its just our protagonist tried to leave in chapter 2 so i doesn't really make sense that he's trying to atone for his sins, what it does seem like is he is a former employee who wants to see what the place is like and accidentally stumbles upon Huggy and he tried to escape after but he couldn't. Now that he is stuck in the factory, he decides to help Poppy by defeating the prototype .

I just realized that since the prototype can mimic voices that he's probably the one leaving the voice messages in the cutouts. And that's why cutouts like mommy's or catnaps didn't have voice messages because they weren't dead yet. Therefore, the prototype couldn't use their voices for the cutouts. But there are some gaps such as mommy's cutouts not having a voice line in chpt3 and bunzos having a voiceline before he dies. And then there's miss delight, but I just figured since there were multiple of them, then the prototype would've just used one of them. But anyway, my point with this is that we could predict who's still alive in future chapters 🙂

I'm pretty sure he won't play if he hasn't already. That game requires 2 things - 4 people and a learning curve. Problem that Matt himself states is he has problems with games that require multiple people playing together. He says gets too frustrated when he has to give control of his game plays to others, he was talking about this a week or two ago. (paraphrasing here)

@@EndoftheBeginning17 Ok, whilst I understand your point, the game does not require 4 people to play. I normally play alone anyways, in fact multiple youtubers play Phas alone. The learning curve isn't really there that much when playing on smaller maps and Matt has played much harder games than Phasmophobia. Futhermore, the game has gone through recent updates that do make the game a bit harder to understand, but it also makes it more enjoyable for single players.

I can’t wait to get my copy of that book! It looks like an interesting read! Also, when PW mentioned that a port-a-lounge saved their life once, I bet they were referring to the hour of joy. I’m guessing they hid in a port-a-lounge and managed to somehow survive and escape the factory only to come back 10 years later to search for their lost coworkers which is when the game takes place. Hmm… maybe we are playing as PW… 🤔

28:35 is “park” referencing the orphanage area we go to in chapter three? A lot of it has benches and snacks similar to how it would be set up. There is also a playground and small water area I believe which would make it similar to a park. He might be using quotations since it is indoors/ uses artificial lights. It also has lots of plants which may or may not be fake and set up in a way that might be meant to look like a park

Looking at the incident report and it literally being signed by P.W., if you look back to the handwriting on the progress reports and experiment reports, it's all the same handwriting, so that means P.W. was the one writing every one of those.
