While not discounting this skill.... Maynard is known for recording his vocals on already made music tracks. He tends to follow the guitar a lot with his voice patterns.

@@xKapnKrunch playing the bass line, guitar, and vocals (and a little percussion as well) is not 100 times easier just because the syllables match the riff sometimes

@@-__9767 yes it is absolutely 100 times easier with the way Maynard sings comparable to other songs and singers. Again not discounting his skill it's just why you see this often with acoustic covers of tool songs.

that bassline is ALREADY SO HARD by itself add to that the fact that the singing line's rhythm pattern is not even on the same realm as the bassline and then playing it together.. while maintaining emotion and flow are you god?

I remember leaving a comment regarding your Aerials cover, stating that while the Tool songs were incredibly technically impressive, you played that song with an intensity that the Tool songs didn't quite reach. I guess I'm eating my words now, as ever since I saw you perform this on a livestream, I can see that you found a song that can be performed with both incredible tech and high intensity. Easily my favorite cover of yours so far!

IMO, Tool’s creative process (Maynard laying in the vocal arrangement over the musical composition) leads to an unmatched balance and synergy. The way you capture this is masterful!

Man I've been jamming your stuff for the last 30-40 minutes, this is some amazing guitar work. The ability to play the guitar, the bass and the vocals at once is incredible. The tone especially shines through on this one, you can practically hear Maynard in the verse index finger notes.
