Gastón Acurio is a Peruvian chef and ambassador of Peruvian cuisine. He is the owner of international restaurants and author of several books. In Peru he's also the host of his own television program and contributes to several magazines.
Gaston studied law (expecting to succeed his father in a political career) in Lima then Madrid, but dropped out to learn how to cook, enrolling at first an hotelier school in Spain then le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
In 1994, he returned to Peru and applied his new knowledge of international cuisine to Peruvian ingredients and recipes, opening his first restaurant, Astrid & Gastón. Today, together with his wife Astrid, he owns restaurants across the Latin world and in America.

Gracias Dios por habernos dado un ser tan valioso como Gastón Acurio… que logra tener la visión de ver en la gastronomía del Peru .. una gran riqueza que era variada … que fue reuniendo todo el personal humano.. es decir cocineros y cocineras de todo el país dando a conocer los platos del país entero… insumos diversos de los distintos lugares del país etc..gracias Señor Gastón Acurio por enseñarnos a descubrir tanto potencial de nuestra querida Patria.

Gastón es uno de los primeros cocineros q tiene una visión más amplía de la resposabilidad social .....esperemos q el restó piense como él , ayudaría a muchos con su aporte y sin la participación del estado....un verdadero revolucionario.

I like about Peru is the biodiversity of exotic fruits I hope that chef Gaston can innovate exotic fruits into a palatable meal so That the people of Peru and the rest of the world eat and consume more fruits than meat.. .
