Shane MacGowan, the cool lead singer of The Pogues, is a punk rock legend. He's famous for his unique singing, love of whiskey, and writing skills. Lots of musicians, artists, and writers look up to him.
Shane used to drink a lot. During shows and interviews, he'd often be really drunk. One time, he drank so much that Sinead O'Connor wanted to help him publicly. Luckily, he got it together in time. Later, he wrote a book called "Having a Drink with Shane MacGowan."
Throughout his life, Shane MacGowan held a strong belief in miracles, and eventually, he turned into a sort of miracle himself. His life story, told through conversations with Victoria Mary Clark (who co-authored the book and, at the time it was published in 2001, was probably the only person who could interview him long enough for material), reads like a Marquez novel-Irish magical realism, an extraordinary life.
Throughout all these years, Victoria stood by him-in the hospital, at home-supporting and keeping him alive. But eventually, we lose the battle against death. Victoria faced the passing of the man she loved with dignity. She wrote in her post:
I am blessed beyond words to have met him and to have loved him and to have been so endlessly and unconditionally loved by him and to have had so many years of life and love.

Mais si elle l'aime vraiment, elle n'a pas fait de sacrifices. Tout ce qu'elle lui a donné elle l'a fait par amour et parce qu'elle savait qu'il avait une belle âme et qu'il l'aimait aussi. Mais c'est vrai que de le voir se détruire à cause de ses addictions devait la rendre malheureuse et elle avait sûrement des moments de découragements. Et lui aussi devait souffrir de ne pas pouvoir se passer de ces "saloperies" . Heureusement, cela ne lui a pas gâché son grand talent de chanteur, compositeur et poète. Et l'amour de Victoria l'a porté et rendu heureux. J'aurais aimé les connaître tous les deux... Shane protège Victoria là où il est et il écrit des poèmes et les chantent pour elle. THE TRUTH IS he was with her because he had no choice. She just wouldn't go away. He didn't love her but he used her. She was his old man's nurse maid.

My mother despised him. she said, "Is this what Ireland looks up to. Her father and uncle died for Irish freedom. In 1916 .They never drink because it was the doom of the Irish people.

@@ananova42it's sad that people are so judgemental don't read a book by it's cover shane was a very talented man he worked hard for his living bring in millions of pounds owned his own home his music touched peoples hearts he never had a bad word said about anyone he'd give people money who was in need people living on the streets he respected everyone yes he had no filter he had his own rules he didn't hurt anyone he loved people from all walks of life do your research on shane then you'll realise why people looked up to him
