The other day I went into the bathroom at school, to touch up my Mascara. Someone I know walked out of the stall, noticed I was putting on makeup, and said "who ya trying to impress?" I looked at her smirked, then said "myself". And then proceeded to walk away. Honestly though I totally agree, I love myself and the way I look, but makeup is fun!!!

People always say "wow that looks like a lot of work" trust me, it isn't when you love it! I started watching tutorials on makeup when I was about 11 and I honestly fell in love with everything about makeup. I can't tell you why I love it, I don't put it on to impress anyone, I do it because it's fun and a way to express myself. I started wearing makeup at 12 and I'm now 16. Makeup is an art and it's okay to love it, and do it.

i so resonate with the stuff at the beginning. i started to do my makeup pretty early, about fifth grade because i always saw others wearing it and i knew i already loved it. my mom didn't really like it and she thought it was weird. i remember she asked me one day why i do it when im naturally so beautiful (i hate when people say things like that tbh), and i told her "mom, i don't think you understand. i don't do my makeup for others, i do it for myself."

Girls should never be shamed for wearing makeup! I used to wonder why other girls would wear so much makeup because I thought it was silly and stupid but now I understand. I'm so sorry! If a girl wants to wear makeup, she can wear as much as she wants. Just remember that you are and always will be BEAUTIFUL! If anyone tells you differently I will come and punch them in the throat.

I started wearing at a pretty young age. I wore concealer, powder, and mascara. I didn't wear the powder much because it was too dark for my skin tone. It was my moms. I was with 2 of my friends and we had a sleepover. When we woke up we sat in the hallway and I heard her mom saying I wore makeup because I was insecure. But honestly, I love the way I look and when I look in the mirror I smile because I point out the beautiful things on my body and not the negitive. Some adults don't realize that I'm not doing my makeup because I'm Insecure... it's because I want to highlight those features that I love and make them pop. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. 💕

I really don't understand why people make such drama about whether someone wears makeup or doesn't. Wtf.. let people be. Makeup or not, it's only the persons business and decision.. Some people complain if you use it,some complain if you don't. I personally don't use it often. Mostly for cosplay or festivals. And oh boy i LOVE the options and opportunities it has! You do you. When guys do something they say it's for themselves (eg get a new car, new hair cut, ect) but when girls put on makeup boys say it's for them, I put makeup on in the night and just take it of after. This is because I love doing it. I may have my insecurities but most of the time when I put on makeup I do it because I love it. People say that my face looks Cakey and I did it wrong, but I don't care, I enjoy doing my makeup. I'm not trying to impress people.

I don't generally watch makeup videos, but I did watch this one and loved it! I love the message you sent, Nikkie, because I think we also shame ourselves for enjoying makeup. I've never been a big makeup buff, but I enjoy the basics, and have just started to enjoy being playful with it and going bolder. As a friend said who is HUGE on makeup: it helps her feel polished as she starts her day. And I couldn't agree more and will not longer feel weird about the power of makeup. Man oh man...what gets me the most are the women commenting on this video acting like they are better then women who wear makeup just because they don't wear it. Guess what? You're not. It's honestly really sad. Women are the worst enemy of other women. If you wear makeup, good for you. If you don't, then that's fine too. I personally love makeup. I'm an artist by trade and makeup to me, is just another way to have fun and be creative with my look, just like dying my hair and wearing fun clothes. So you can bash and talk all you want but it's not gonna make me stop doing what I love. I don't wear makeup for anyone but myself. And if a guy is so concerned about me wearing makeup, then that's not someone I want to be with anyway.

Some of these comments (mostly by males) are so annoying and pointless. "You wear it for men but we don't like it, it's like a mask, it's a sham, it's a lie, accept your insecurities." You clearly aren't understanding the message behind this video. A women's face is exactly that, her fucking face! If she wants to conceal her whole face, add 3 layers of foundation, fill in her brows till they look like caterpillars, chisel her face with contour, throw in blush and highlighter, and throw on lashes that look like butterflies landed on her damn eyelids SHE CAN. I personally believe if you have something you don't like you can do whatever you want to do to manipulate it. We don't do it for men, I don't stand in the mirror thinking "man.. is he going to like this shade of lipstick??"
