Competent generosity is the key for healthy masculinity.
Jesus prays that His Church is never without shepherds. This world and His Church is in need of leaders, of shepherds, and of fathers. While we will always need women and mothers, we stand in particular need of fathers at this moment in history. We need both: strong and generous men and women to place their strength at the service of the people around them.

My little sister soon after she was born stopped breathing in the hospital, my father although being terrified of the potential of losing a child baptized her. My sister is alive and well. I think this is a prime example of how much of a noble vocation being a father is. I look back on this and I can't even imagine the sadness and dried he was feeling but despite that he did the will of God the trinity, I pray to have that amount of faith

My dad every night before I go to sleep does the sign of the cross on my forehead and say something along the lines of "may God protect my beautiful son, Amen." I'm glad he does it and that its stayed, even as I get older

Every night as they are tucked in their bed, for 32+ years, my wife’s and I Blessed each our kids with the sign of the Cross on their forehead saying, “May Jesus Bless and protect you with His Precious Blood!”

I am Venezuelan and in my country every time we go out and come back from anywhere, we ask for our parent's blessing, we see aunts, uncles, and grandparents, we ask for their blessing. Bendición mami❤, bendición abuela❤.

Sometimes before i leave for work on the 3rd shift railroad, i bless my family with the sign of the cross on the head with holy water .

Martin Luther, a catholic priest removed 7 books from the bible that was in there for over 1500 years. Read some church history.

Amen Fr. Mike I have been both Mother and father to my kids. I pray every day for my kids. I thank God for my babies, and grandbabies. I pray that God would bless them, look after them, protect them and guide them. I know he will keep them out of harm's way. And he does. And again I am thankful to God for my kids, and for being in our lives and everything he's done for us. God is good indeed always🙏🌹

my best friend was amazing when he blessed me for my 30th birthday. I went to his parish out of invite from our bookclub. My biological father is not able to do such thing. He will retire from this life before he does and my own father I will be able to bless him before he passes on. My biological father after the age of 80 now is proud of me, as much as he wishes me to be a rockstar or even moviestar, I don't plan on doing what my biological father nor what my biological mother wants. I want to serve others. Thanks to my friend the priest whose name was and is Reverend Fr. Patrick "Kirk" Curley.

My father died when I was 3 and don't know if he even belived in god, so I think I never had it. For those who still can, please ask their blessing, it makes so much difference!

In the Philippines, we have a 2 second custom where the kids/younger ones will get "God bless you" from the older gen, esp parents, as the young ones just arrive. Young: "Mano po." Older: "God bless you." Two seconds! Young one takes the hand of the Older and puts hand to forehead. I didn't realize its power!

Q: My Father passed in 2015, 10 mos later, my beloved husband passed suddenly, 5 yrs later, my Mom passed, when one is a Widow and Matriarch of their family, is the Power of a Father's blessing dead within the family until the son's become Father's themselves?

I believe in the power of a Mother to bless her children also. To say a father is the only parent that can bless a child seems Bill Gothard and cult-like to me. I can only hope the emphasis on Father's blessing is for Father's Day.

I'd like to know more about the theology behind this. It sounds very beautiful and just what I want to hear as a dad. But what is meant by blessing them? I'd be interested to know more. I know that God loves my children and wants to see them saved even more than I do!

It’s about Gods Natural Law. Fathers have authority over their whole family unit - like Adam who had authority over Eve. Mothers only have authority over her children but not her husband. Many many exorcists speak about it all the time and the power a parent has at blessing their kids to protect them and the theology behind it

Catholic disobedience to the commandment of God reduces their blessings. Jesus commanded "Call no man on earth father, for you have One Father whi is in heaven." Calling any man kn earth father is from the anti christ. Your pope now has you jouning Chrisilam. Islam states that" Jesus is not the Son of God." If you join with them then your last connection to Christ is gone.
