This was great! I suspected what unison did, but this helped, however, best of all, I learned quite a bit about phase plant, as well as some awesome production tricks.

Nice sounds man! i would be interested in how you layer arrangement wise such a part with this heavy dominant arp with other sounds to complement it. :)

Human attention can only be paid to one musical element at a time. Therefore if you've got a primary lead, the most you can get away with are another elements that are "behind" the primary element. One good technique is to play the segment with the primary element and play around with volume or cutoff of the secondary element, so whenever you feel like the listener could be bored with primary element and the beat, you "turn up the heat" with the secondary element so the listener's attention is refreshed, then back out again so the listener's attention is back on the primary element. Electronic music is a play on the listener's attention and expectations

Unknown Chirality Music thank you For your input. I do agree with you, for 4 or maybe 8 Bars the primary element is everything the listeners attention need, but in many songs I listen to after that there is not only 1 secondary element, there are much more in the background. Squelches, speech, vocal voices, Adlibs, strings, pads and even sequences or arps. And I do find it ineffective to play around with all this stuff and find out by trial and error which fits, so I’m looking for good techniques for this style.

How do the number of oscillators in unison affect a bass patch?

it can create phasing in the lows, due to multiple waves at different frequencies overlapping - I will usually remove the fundamental if I'm going to use unison on a separate layer with bass :)

Unlike techno, you culd produce entire worlds trance soundtrack. Its so simple and repetitive that sucks so much. I prefer much more technish than trance, its the reggaeton of electronica imo.
