The film tells the story of a boy who rather spends his time indoors playing videogames instead of discovering what’s waiting outside. One day his Mum decides to get a little surprise for her son, which makes it hard for him to concentrate on his video game any longer.

After a very successful festival circuit, running on over 180 film festivals and winning more than 50 awards, we’ve decided that it’s finally time to share “The Present” with the rest of the world.
“The Present” is a thesis short from the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
We really hope you enjoy the result of our hard work. Thanks to everyone who help creating this film and everyone who supported us during the festivals. Thanks a lot for making this such an incredible journey. “The Present” is based on a great little comic strip by the very talented Fabio Coala.

The Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, with its Animation Institute and the postgraduate masterclass Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris, is one of the internationally most acclaimed film and media schools. In my opinion, I think the mom got him the dog so he can realize that he's not alone with his one leg, and that even though he's missing a limb, he doesnt have to be unhappy.

I loved all the three characters in this short film. His mom who chose to bring such a wonderful present. The cute little dog that stumbles, falls down but never give up. The boy who is inspired by the spirit of the dog. Nice heart touching short film. I love it.

The FILM is BEAUTIFUL,not just in the way it has been made(the technical aspect ,of which I know little )but also the theme comes out beautifully . Both emotions ,of the characters and mine are evoked during the film . I thank the people behind this "very short film" ,which successfully served its purpose . It has inspired me just like how the puppy inspires the boy .

Selina Melzer Meine Güte, lern erst mal einen anständigen Satz zu formulieren du kleine ungebildete Rotzgöre. Selbst für PC games sollte man lesen und schreiben können und wenn es schon auf deutsch nicht klappt wirds schwierig, wenn's dann auf Englisch im Chat zugeht... Wenn Mami und Papi dann nicht mehr für die Konsole zahlen, dir den Arsch abwischen und man nicht einmal einen Satz gerade heraus bekommt, wird's schwierig mit Job und Geld.
