In discussing the preservation of the Qur'an we tend to forget a very important aspect of the Qur'an itself: its orality and the importance of its orality. We tend to use the same tools used for other texts like the Bible, for instance. The danger is that this may lead us astray. Non Muslims ignore that the Qur'an is the only religious text that undergoes an empirical test on a daily basis. Three times a day the, during the Fajr, Maghrib and Eisha prayers verses ot the Qur'an are recited in front of the congregation aloud by the Imam, the one conducting the prayer, aloud and in an audible manner. The rule is that as soon as he deviates it is incumbent on every one in the assembly too correct him at once and aloud.. Muslims know how often this happens. When perpetuating the preservation of the authenticity of the text , the latter undergoes a daily test. This practice started right during the lifetime of the prophet until today. One will say that the not the whole Qur'an is recited during the daily prayers and it is true. But on a yearly basis during the month of Ramadan the whole of the Qur'an is recited before vast multitudes of Muslims around the world during the Trawih prayers. The same rule of immediate correction called lukmah is applied. The problem studying the Qur'an arises when we try to apply the western tools like textual criticism to the Qur'an. All these tools rely uniquely on texts, mushaf. But texts, manuscripts, scrolls, bones, animals skins, etc. are perishable and by their very nature are subject to corruption, alteration, changes, intentional or unintentional. The Qur'an, however, in its own words are kept in"the breasts of men" and has been so since the revelation. No one can be a Muslim if he does pray five times a day and salaat is essentially the recitation of the verses of the Q"an. That is why millions of Muslims learn the whole text by heart. To illustrate the unreliability of text I'll quote a book written by Peter Enns "How the Bible was changed". The author who masters perfectly both Hebrew and Greek gives examples of how the Hebrew Bible was altered to suit a Greek audience. The Hebrew Bible says in in Genesis 2: God finished the work of creation on the seventh day. The problem is that God could not work on the seventh day and not respecting the Sabbath himself. So the authors of the Septuagint translated the verse God finished the work of creation on the sixth day. In any case, if we want to prove that the Qur'an is not intact we just have to come forward with one mosque where the Qur'an is recited differently.

Quran means "Recital", it is memorised by recitation verbally. There is a chain of memorisation leading all the way back to The Prophet PBUH. When someone memorised the Quran they get an Ijazah, that is a certificate of authentication that this is how their teachers memorised it leading all the way back to The Prophet PBUH himself.

Normally the Quran was not revealed the way it is today This is true, as there are verses that were revealed in Maka and others in the Medina, the harakate were added so that the reading of the Quran is the same and cannot be changed and the verses of the Quran were rearranged and titled when the prophet was still alive (I will check this info), and all this does not mean that the text was not preserved at perfection and when we talk about the preservation of the text we are talking about the original message that God revealed to the prophet, so if I understand correctly you meant that because the Quran underwent reorganizations which did not affect the words nor the sentences (so that there was an addition or that such and such sentence was expressly changed) that we cannot say that the book is perfectly kept? And on the last message that our brother put in this video it is true, it is important not to come too much talk until a person does not know much in a subject and this is valid whether in relation to the Christian and their book as well as us and our book, therefore Muslims being kind enough to want to deepen themselves more on our religion before wanting to converse (this is what I force myself to do because of course I do not know everything and I continue to learn), but that Christians do not also make the same mistake and start saying things that are false without knowing about the Quran I think that we should also insist on being pointed out to your Christian brothers KT.

The first Qurans were not "protected" were not "preserved" as Uthman recalled and burnt them - in place of 1 stating new copies to be exactly and precisely copied in to the future. This will produce a stable text we see today.

The text may be preserved. But the language isn’t so nobody knows what it actually says/said. It had its time and did its job but we now live in a different modern world and we need to advance our brains and not go backwards.

My opinion: If we talk about the preservation of the standardised Quran :known by early Muslims like Sayd Jubayr as the recitation of Zayd Thabit) it is more reasonable to say there is a preservation to a degree however it is not perfect. There are many readings from the canonical 7 that were deemed weak, wrong and at other times grammatically repugnant. However I will say it is easy to disregard these as was the way of Al-Tabari Regarding whether the recitation of Zayd itself is correct, there is not a terrific amount of evidence to support any kind of preservation at all. Again, there were many readings that were considered grammatically wrong by the early Muslims, many mistakes commited by scribes and readings that completely contradict one another and Change Islamic law. However the early Muslims were more interested in not allowing confusion than keeping the Quran preserved, and others in the second generation simply took other readings of companions as authoritative and more correct in many instances.

The Quran was not perfectly preserved. Aisha reported while we were preoccupied with the death of the prophet and a goat eat the verses of stoning an adulterous and breastfeed feeding an adult 10 times. The satanic verses were removed from the Quran. Umar Al khattab said Let no one say they have the whole of the Quran. Let them say I have what remains.
