Just a question, why do you not insulate the ceiling? I live in Massachusetts and I put insulation in my basement that is cement and I put insulation on the ceiling of the basement. I think it helps with heat.

Just saw the bit where insulation was going in before installing plaster boards. I live in Spain and I find your content very educational as the style of houses and the climate is very similar.

Hi John, I have no doubt you are getting lots of comments and even so criticism but just so you know. My father was a contractor and have grown up working in the business. Also, we all appreciate your honesty and sharing with us viewers what your intentions are with your “add-on shed” and think you are doing an EXCEPTIONAL JOB! A few videos ago, Crusoe and Sawyer were walking ahead of you on the path when I suddenly saw Sawyer's gait change from his little rolling baby gait to walking like a big boy. I actually shed a few tears, remembering my own boys at that age, leaving babyhood behind. I am in admiration of the parenting you both provide. Your children are intelligent and inquisitive.

My late husband was a contractor and has built million dollar homes. He would had love to have someone Ike you, John , on the build. The care and precisions you build , is really great . ***Room for Mom: Have you thought of a camper Mini toilet for the Guest cottage, where there is already a bed? And a large bowl for a sink, with a large hot water thermos and towel. I love your vision and drive for getting things done. When I was renovating my older farm house, I had to filter out the opinions of others and take what I liked from their views and leave out the rest 😊. You explained yourself well. Watching Crusoe doing some hammering brought back a happy childhood memory. My dad had an old solid plank of wood for us to hammer nails into. Not only did we all practice hammering but so did the next generation until the plank was more nails than wood! It kept us busy with dad while he did work in the shed. Love your family!

And we have got a fantastic weather this week, after all the bad forecasts... Crusoe was so proudly saying " this is my house", it really touched me! All the family is involved in the project, that's what being a family is all about! I'm a gramma and I can assure you...Your mum will be happy sleeping on the sofa if it means she gets to see and spend time with her family. (as long as she doesn't have to stumble too far in the middle of the night for a pitt stop, that is) John, This is coming along so beautifully I always forget you aren't a professional. You know what, John? The fact that you can put two pieces of wood together and have it look like something, with no formal training and just your vision to guide you, well, lets just say I have seen you do some amazing things on that farm! You may not do it by the book, or know all of the technical terms, but your natural creativity and your ability to translate your vision to reality when building something really is a gift you have. That window frames the tiny house & garden path so beautifully it looks like a postcard. Lovely seeing the roses & other flowers growing abundantly & making everything seem cheerful. Your Mum is going to love being there in person - it's so much better than watching the videos! The different feel, weather & smells is what makes countries different. Do you not need a temporary Cook & chaperone who will work for free while Mum is there? 😊😁😜 👩‍🍳🧞‍♂️ 🚗

Hey guys. I’d love to see some of the nit pickers on here build some of the amazing structures that you alone have built on your property. They most likely couldn’t even put bloody Lego together…🙄, hubby Alan and I are amazed at what you’ve done John and are constantly gob smacked what you do with no or little help. Tara is so very proud of you, you can tell by the way she smiles and looks at you. Full of pride I would say….God bless you both and your precious boys who are one of the highlights of your channel. You don't need to explain to us as whatever you've done so far looks great. Having a roof on and the plasterboard in place makes so much difference in the appearance of the extention. So much accomplished in this episode. Awesome job both of you.

Is there a logistic reason why you divided the window into 4 sections? I loved the big window without the boards! Now it seems smaller & takes away from the full view. You must have your reasons… just wondering!

Hi Gracie. We just want the boys to realize it’s a window and not just an open space, so we decided to put the boards there so that it’s easily noticeable 🙏🏼🙏🏼

We always wait in anticipation for your next video and what progress you are all making. We dont criticise or make suggestions, as its your property and you do it the way you want to do it.
