Jim Thornton was with CBS, since 1996. Stephanie Simmons took his place, on CBS 2 News This Morning.

I couldn't even tell that was Jim until I read the description, he sounds so different in this.

Jim Thornton is the second Wheel of Fortune cast member who was on The Price Is Right. The first was, of course, Vanna White who was called to "Come On Down!" back in 1980.

Looking at this, you may be right--he sounds different here than on Wheel. Rich may have been also good for Wheel (but now that I think about it, his Wheel voice was exactly the same as his Price voice).
