7 жыл бұрынA single-player playthrough of four "episodes" of Ubisoft's 2011 Nintendo Wii game show game, The Price is Right Decades.
The game offers episodes from each of the four decades represented (1970s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s), and each of the decade's episodes mimic the show's look, sounds, games, and prizes from their respective time periods. Let me tell you, that makes some of these games awfully hard - the prices reflect what they were on the show at the time. So, you might fully well know what baby grand piano by company X is worth in 2005, or what a Toyota Corolla cost in 1998, but how about a console TV from 1974? It is cool, though, to see these differences reflected, and I think my favorite part of the whole thing is that the video descriptions of the items are all pulled from their own time periods. Video from the 1970s looks surprisingly not that bad when put into a Wii game!
I didn't play through every single episode that the game offers, but I played one episode from each of the decades represented. Here are the time codes:

What a neat way to present the classic game show in a video game! The Price is Right Decades is a pretty amusing showcase of American consumerism spanning 40 years!

And The Price is Right has been a staple of both CBS and WKYT for over 4 decades, ever since the show's debut on September 4, 1972, but WKYT isn't the only station that carried the show for over 4 decades; other CBS stations such as WBBM, WCBS and KCBS also carried the show in the 4 decades since!

I've actually have this game that i bought from a game store where they sell DVD's and i've actually beaten this game already since i completed every decade and unlocked all the bonus videos! Also, i've been watching mark liotta's gameplay runs of TPiR decades for the nintendo wii and so far he's doing a good job in the game! R.I.P. Bob Barker (1923-2023)

I have to say: I like this unironically. The avatars give it that soulless look, but that's not unusual for these at the time. But they faithfully recreated the sets and games, and they use actual prizes from classic shows and have some clips of the real show. You have to commend that.

There was actually a period from 1982 until the early 1990s where Bob would sign off with his pet population plug on some shows, and others just by saying goodbye. Originally the pet population plug was weekly, then twice a week, then three times a week, and then finally, daily. The first plug happened shortly after his late wife's death Dorothy Jo.

The 1970s one should have amber-and-eggcrate Contestants' Row displays (1972-74), as everything else about it suggests that era, despite being labeled "1977" in the game.

This is a fun game. We need a remastered version of this for Nintendo switch, PlayStation, 4/5 Xbox series, X/s. and the new iPads. but hopefully not Apple Arcade because my mom is not paying for that!

If there’s a new TPIR video game (published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Digital Eclipse, under license from Fremantle), it would be based on the current version, focusing on the Barker daytime era from 1972-2007, the Dennis James syndicated era from 1972-77, the Bob Barker syndicated era from 1977-80, the Tom Kennedy syndicated era from 1985-86, the Doug Davidson syndicated era from 1994-95 and the Drew Carey daytime era.

In addition, all the original TPIR cues from 1972-83 would be brought back in their original recordings and in remastered form, and the game would be released for the Switch, Xbox One and PS4!

It's an American exclusive release. BTW, I've got the 2010 Edition on DS which is Region Free! And it's not a very easy one to find outside the USA!

I have The Price is Right DVD game, The Price is Right for Wii, The Price is Right Decades for Wii and The Price is Right Decades for Wii, but the only TPIR memorabilia I don't have are the TPIR home game, The Price is Right 2010 for Wii, the TPIR book and The Best of The Price is Right DVD, but, hopefully, I'll have enough money on Amazon to buy these three!

There was not a single double overbid on this TPIR Decades playthrough! BTW, everybody knows that on TPIR, if both contestants go over the actual retail price of their own showcase, two OVER graphics appear on the podiums, the losing horns sound and IT'S A DOUBLE OVERBID AND IT'S ALWAYS TRAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the negative side, but the positive side of TPIR is that if either contestant is within $250 or less ($100 or less prior to 1998) away from the actual retail price of his/her own Showcase, then he/she WINS BOTH SHOWCASES AND IT'S ALWAYS EXCITING AND AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
