Hands down the biggest project I've done to date. Maxed out my hard drive multiple times, but then file organisation has never been a strong point for me haha
Guys! I'm so happy to share this with you! Putting this together was an absolute trip and at times, very emotional.
Please support me on these platforms below, if you only wish to support the big projects I do, donate as and when they come. Anything is HIGHLY appreciated.

Lyrics (Including personal edits):
Feel the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt, of my sweat, on my brow
Elohim, God on high, can you hear your people cry
Help us now, this dark hour
Deliver us
Hear our call deliver us
Lord of all remember us here in this burning sand
Deliver us, there's a land you promised us
Deliver us to the promised land.
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again if He will…
Deliver us
Hear our prayer, deliver us
From these famished years as slaves, we've grown too old to stand
Deliver us! There's a land you promised us
Deliver us, to the promised (land)
…and from the bondage (and)
To that promised,,,
land
Hush now my baby, be still love don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
River oh river, flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere he can be free?
River, deliver him there
Brother you're safe now, and safe may you stay
I have a prayer just for you
Grow baby brother, come back someday
Come and deliver, us too
Deliver us Send a shepherd to shepherd us
And deliver us to the promised…
Land!

Curiosity is killing me; the bass notes are edited down an octave right? There are so few people who can physically hit those notes, especially with the incredible tenor and high range you have. (A5s all day, wow!) Either way, the weight of the bass adds so much, and turns amazing a cappella into truly epic orchestration. As a singer I am blown away by your range and skill (those runs!!), not to mention the talent and time it must have taken to arrange and edit this. It honestly makes me cry almost every time I hear that perfect ending.

Sam - I just stumbled into this and am floored.... so many questions 1) can you put this on a 10 hour loop and post? 2) what software did you use? 3) how do you sing in 27 octaves?!? :) Your use of 9ths 11ths and 13ths is insane in this.... EVERY TIME I listen I hear something new and awesome and get chills.... I am going to go through some of your originals later but man... I don't know why I haven't heard this before.... Do you have some sort of sheet music for this for purchase? or I'd even love to see the video of the computer program screen as its playing and seeing all everything going at once... I immediately thought Bluecoats from DCI could pick this up and play ... Would love to hear your arrangement in brass.... Keep doing this stuff man - your complete impact is probably not recognized by you, but this REALLY moved me.....

HIGHLIGHTS TIME! 0:00 I'm not gonna lie, I like the voice more than the original trumpet solo, it makes the final "deliver us" feel like a sort of callback. 0:16 Brings himself into view once his name is displayed, nicely done. 0:33 Man he really nailed that percussive sound. Also the beginning of a very aesthetically impressive video. 0:41 Such a small detail, yet so powerful. 0:47 And the beginning of very entertaining and engaging choreography. He didn't have to do it, but he did anyway, and we are thankful for it. 0:53 I like to think those chordal interjections mirror the groans and screams of agony, really cool (and a little unsettling) effect. 0:59 Someone in the comments (@Langston Lynch in case you were curious) praised the "artful" interpretation of "Elohim, God on high". And I've realised that I agree. Also like to think the triangle symbolises the Holy Trinity but I could be imagining it. 1:09 Aesthetic fits the lyrics, nice little detail. 1:25 This was the first time I saw the use of the old gramophone speaker as a horn, and I've loved it ever since. 1:29 David's star reference? Either way it looks cool. 1:44 That swell... the mmMMmm effect... and the lingering reverb afterwards... I love it... 1:46 The percussive hits are so epic... also the outlining frames look like John Wick a bit. 1:48 I don't speak Hebrew but I believe you. So hypnotic in its tone and reverb... 2:01 Woah bass 2:14 Hey, it's Peregrine Tuk! 2:34 Mmmm jazz 2:36 Man the bottom two are really going for it huh 2:43 Epic aesthetic following an ever expanding frame layout. 2:46 Mmm tranquil this is 2:52 nice WOAH WHAT IS THIS SLICE OF HEAVEN 2:59 I totally buy his mother impression. 3:06 Subtle choreo detail, but it adds so much. 3:17 Nice chromatic bassline. (idk I like it) 3:34 I don't know what it is but something about this chord in particular makes me love it. 3:53 This is one of the things I love about Sam. When he uses dissonance, he uses for good reason, either for jazz contexts, or to convey emotion. And this conveys emotion. The sound of that M7#9b13 (F#M/D) has pulled at something deep within from the first time hearing it. 4:05 Dense harmony and aesthetics. Love it. 4:18 It starts happening earlier but it's more obvious here: the shot literally zooms in on different parts of the bigger layout instead of inserting a new shot, interesting detail. 4:23 Nice bit of chromatic motion as well as a little bit of cool aesthetic. 4:26 Holy vocal range Batman 4:29 Whoa. That's all I have to say, whoa. 4:46 Subtle almost-licc 4:59 Little cello countermelody in the background somehow does so much. 5:05 Oh boy here we go... 5:16 Mmmm jazz 2 5:29 Excellent choir sound. 5:33 More cool aesthetic- 5:39 Never mind here's an even cooler aesthetic. 5:45 This is it. This is moment that brings tears to my eyes every single time, including now. The passion, pain and desperation in that voice is undeniable and unforgettable. 5:50 I'll be honest, I like this ending better than the original. Maybe just because it's more epic whereas the original is perhaps more tender. 5:57 Holy moly, if I had a dollar for every frame on screen... I'd have a lot of money. This video was what inspired me to start making these comments. I'd list every time I got goosebumps but then the comment would be twice as long and it's already plenty long as is. If you're watching this for the first time and for whatever reason decided to go straight to the comments with the video playing in the background and somehow found this comment, I hope you enjoy and are moved by it as much as I was and am. Thank you Sam. Your music is a gift. Sincerely, Oscar Gill

⚠️ MILD PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING⚠️ There is some flashing used as a transition effect. Additionally, the various facecams often fade in and out in a way that may trigger viewers sensitive to light-and-dark patterns. If you have epilepsy and are very sensitive to flashing lights and patterns, you may want to turn down your screen brightness! Personal note: while I do not have epilepsy, flashing lights and patterns do unfortunately trigger disorientation, headaches, and sometimes migraines for me. I’ll gladly take those little things rather than seizures for obvious reasons, but my sensitivity to flashing lights and patterns allows me to identify potential triggers with little risk to my own health. If this seems unnecessary to you, that’s absolutely fine, I can’t change your opinion, but I don’t want viewers who came for some excellent music to leave with medical problems. Have a nice day or night, wherever you may be on this Earth!!

Thanks for your input, and to your first part. You're not alone--I have felt that way so many times throughout my life. Dude. Just. DUDE. That was stunning, visually and sonically. Let me just say, RIP Ofra Haza, but boi you did her absolute justice with those vocalizations and her Hebrew verse, your octave range is stunning and this was just fucking beautiful. I don't know what else to say, but damn dude, I'm blown away. This is up there with my absolute favourites of single person Acappella arrangements. I would love to see you do an arrangement of 'Let My People Go', because that song is also a stunning one and I feel like you could do it justice. Either way, keep making music, you're a fucking star mate.
