I am so grateful to you for sharing that. I've been playing for 30+ years and solo has never been a great experience for me. Whenever I solo it seems every musician on stage continues to play. Sometimes they play over me while I'm soloing. I thought the cats knew better but I failed to communicate what I need or want when I solo. Thanks to you I'm going to speak up and not be afraid to take the spotlight.

Dang bro! You got some skills! I'm excited to hear more vlogs and learn more from you! Gotta check out Charlie Hayden too! And I've definitely had to snap at my bandmates before for sucking at holding it down when I solo, sometimes I feel bad for how mean I was 😅

Why not use a looper when it’s time for your solo?
@BassWithBenjamin3 ай бұрын
It turns into a disaster when you try to use a loop pedal in a band context. The moment you hit record, the timing is naturally going to be different from when you stop recording to start the loop play back. In other words the train is gonna fall off the tracks because the timing is inconsistent with the rest of the band. It can be done but you will need a sophisticated setup that involves a sequencer and the rest of the band to use in ears to hear a click track. Not worth all that setup and hassle when the other musicians can just learn how to accompany a bass soloist properly.
