Man, as always, excellent video! You explained the topic very well, which unfortunately is not known to young creators. People watch these wonderful shots from GoPro and rush to the store for a camera. And then there is a huge disappointment.

I subscribed on the basis of this video! I like your presentation and thought process, as a pretty "new" photographer--after years of pointing-and-shooting with phones and pocket cameras, last year I decided to start studying this craft and upping my game. Though I must admit, and I hope this doesn't offend, but...the camera I bought is a Lumix FZ1000ii, which is a bridge camera with...a 1-inch sensor! :)

Love it, quality takes time to plan and produce and it’s not fast but it is worth it. Obsessing about the best image in a scene is something that’s given through nature/god whatever you want to call it and is the biggest differentiating factor

i watched camera conspiracies video comparing the pocket 3 vs his a7s iii, it was raw real footage, no funny business goin on and the pocket 3 was impressive. But i 100% hear where your coming from, his pocket 3 footage didn't look nearly as good as some of the doctored up footage from other reviewers but it was pretty darn good. Im considering getting one since we do a lot of shooting outside in the field.

You are absolutely right. There are experienced guys who edit videos very well, it's true ordinary person who never had pro editing experience can't edit well with Iphone 15 pro with log profile. I owned sony a7c still I am struggling with log profiles. I shot a lot videos on mobile phone, and last I realized I am just tapping on same place, no growth. Those KZfaqrs they are paid well and for the money get they praise Iphone, action cameras and I think they lie... My recommendation also to get at least real camera...

Interesting video, but i think it misses the point, of why so many people are hyping up small sensor cameras or the iphone. Accesibility and potential. If you are just starting to think about wanting to start photography or just creating something, you don't know what you like to shoot, you don't know what inspires you, what you might want to try out. You just know, that you want to go out and shoot. Which for me, makes want something that excites me, that gives me joy when I look at the end result and most importantly, that gets me excited to go out and shoot. Would a big camera do all that? Sure, but the barrier of entry, is insanely high. Which goes into your fourth point, taking the easy route. Yes, it's easy and that's the point. Make the point of entry as fluid as possible, swim and do, DO, DOO. Find what you want to do and actually, then it's not dumbing it down, but takes learning and skills to produce something great. Like you said, people showcasing shotoniphone videos, are highly skilled at what they do, so why not learn on it? Overcome the limitations and find ways around it, just like everyone had to do with their first camera?

No, I don't think it misses the point at all. This wasn't a video made for people who are just wanting to get out make photos for fun. Or taking videos of their kids. I say plainly that "If you are a creator that is looking to buy your first camera for CONTENT CREATION." This video is for that person who has already been making content on their phones and are now graduating to spending a little more on a camera to raise their production. Thanking you for watching and thank you for your comment.

Well said! I’ve gotten lost so many times in making quick content. It’s helped me refine my skills, but has left me feeling pretty empty after I put out my videos.

I kind of agree and disagree with you. The problem is not the size of the sensors, but the control over the image you want to get out of it. Action cams, DJI pockets and 360 cams are very specialized tools and can't be used for most things. Modern phones offer way more in terms of control nowadays but still not anywhere near enough to replace an interchangeable lens mirrorless camera. I find the overall image quality of these cameras to be pretty good in good light atleast. But the problem isn't image quality anymore, it's flexibility and creative control. If Fuji release a medium format X100, it isn't any more appealing to me than any of these 1 inch sensor cameras.

Hi Jamil, thank you for the informative video. I use 1" sensor cameras like the GoPro 10 and the Canon V10 because they are so convenient and easy to vlog with. Especially since I tried to vlog with DSLR before and it was a heavy nightmare to operate. I do wish to find the sweet spot between the portability and the professionality of a full-frame, but I don't have the funds or skills for that yet.

Just in time. My Pocket 3 is arriving today and i'm running it directly on top of my S1H as a secondary camera as a wide gimbal shot. We'll see how it'll play out, but to your point, it's not going to 100% match up with my full frame
@aboynamedjamil
@aboynamedjamil 6 ай бұрын
I believe it's a great tool. As a secondary camera for someone who knows how to get the very best images out of their tools it's VERY impressive. But to my point I just don't think any cameras with a 1" sensor is the right camera for a beginner. Good luck on the new purchase man! I hope it's so much fun! Thanks for watching! ✌🏾

@@aboynamedjamil Yeah definitely agree with you there. I think beginners can get started with something as simple as using their phone as it's already something they have at their disposal and they can learn how to shoot before investing in a sub $700 camera like this. And if they wanna take it more seriously, a used mirrorless camera with a versatile lens like a 24-70 is a really, really great place to grow

I’m with you. I used to love the ZV1 and own 2 of them but the results are frustrating and you end up investing more and more time trying to get the picture that you want. The degree of hype on KZfaq is absurd!!!! Too many camera salesmen.

The only time I suggest a 1" sensor is for someone looking for something very specific. I have a couple of the Sony RX0 cameras and they are awesome little cameras I can mount in odd places like inside a Stryker combat vehicle. They are there for Broll mostly. As for getting something into some ones hands I have a few middle aged camera bodies that I will loan people and teach them how to take photos not picture, I tell them anyone can take a picture but it takes talent and training to make a photograph. I show them the difference between their phone and all the math stuffed into their picture and the beauty of using a good tool to capture and make a photograph, something that evokes emotion. If you're making content, don't get caught up in top of the line gear but in good gear and the passion poured into said project. Learn editing, proper editing! stop with the jump cuts and get good audio. Been a photographer most of my life, I have photos published all around the world, been a radio guy on and off mic, been a cameraman for news outlets, and public affairs for the military. Good video sir! I agree with you completely.

I do not fully agree. I think that 1in cameras have their place. Yes, as you grow as an artist your equipment needs to adapt to your needs. I agree that using your phone is not the best option as you get distracted by the camera, but this is not a sensor problem. Having said that - there are great aps and full frame cameras on the second market. Always a good option.
