Hmm, this is why I only used skins on top of my Steam Deck as protection measures instead of buying a bulky case. I really recommend D-Brand skins, they got some really high-quality skins for your Steam Deck, durable enough to be proof of fingerprints and scratches while staying very light. Although the application process is a bit tedious to do perfectly.

I had this issue, using the Benazcap kickstand case. A USB-C female to male short adapter solves this issue permanently :)

I think are a lot of casing out there with specially cut holes for the official dock.

Use a cable with a longer connector or slimmer jack. They're advertised as case friendly.

I’m sure you know but that case (looks like the kill switch) when purchasing you can buy the adapter kit as well for the dock that’s what I did at the least and everything works fine

Use an adapter or use a different dock. I have an ivoler dock and it not only works great due to a longer plug but also holds the deck with my Jsaux kickstand case installed. A lot of docks won't hold a deck with a case installed.

I used a super sharp knife and removed a small part of my case that was blocking from a proper connection. My case was pretty cheap though so didn’t mind

This is like complaining I can't put my phone on the Razer kishi with the cover on. Most docks and adapters are not designed with covers in mind. Specially the bulky ones.

To protect the USB-C port from wear and tear, I already added a high quality magnetic connector (with pins, hidden deep down in the connector itself - not standing out like in cheaper ones, to avoid a static discharge, which could destroy the port). Flush with the killswitch case part and works like a charm!

random frank p got one he shows i believe might be someone else but basically i’ll try to explain it as simple as i can the part that actually goes in the port is magnetic and the rest of the wire is magnetic to that so you can always have the one piece in and then just magnetically connect your steam deck kinda like mag safe im sorry if it was kinda confusing im kinda h!gh rn😭
