The problems with the New Holland TS115a will be revealed in this video, at least all the problems I've found so far.

I work for a new holland dealer in the U.K. And I would say it is the injection pump issue. It sounds like ever the timing on the pump has slipped as the gear are not keyed to the pump shaft or the fuel advance is stuck on which could be a fault with one of the two engine coolant temperature sensors. One does the gauge the other does the fuel advance. Shaun
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Shaun. I've heard these pumps can be problematic.

GOD I hate newer tractors......... "Yeah, your fuel cap is not tight causing the radio to loose signal which creates a harmonic on the 4rth temperature sensor in from the anti-knock sensor, which is located next to the oil temperature sensor, which must be calibrated at midnight or the crank speed rotation sensor becomes out of time with the door hinge speed sensor. Any of these sensors fail..... and you need a $4000 computer with another bunch of sensors to fix the fucking thing. Yet........ a 1970 JD 4020 will run for 40 years with no sensors, and do the same amount of work as this tractor using the same amount of fuel. WAY TO GO TRACTOR MANUFACTURES.

Dave S Thats so right. We are using Fiatagri Tractors (90-90Dt with loader an two 100-90Dt) Since 1986. We want no others. They only need fuel and every 5000hours new Tyers. Here in Luxemburg are much Fendt Vario. They need every 5-6000hr a new Gearbox for 25000€ The only thing that we know about the gearbox of our fiat is that i makes 'rrrr' if you are not gentle with it.

Hi. Nice vid. I'm not an expert by any means but I had a tractor that acted and sounded like that once. It drove me mad trying to sort it. Checked all the usual things changed all diesel filters , fitted new diesel line from thank even took the tank off and cleaned it took out the pipe that comes from the tank and cleaned the metal strainer and after all that all it was, was dirt blocking the fitting on the filter housing where the pipe coming from the tank connects to. All I did was take off the pipe then screw of the fitting and clean it with a blast of air and then with the filter off I cleaned the inlet of the housing blew it from the inside out and worked perfect since. Might be worth a look before you get in to big money. Sorry for being so long winded but hope it helps.

I, personally, would love to see the entire process of tracking down the engine problem. I am pretty new to engine work here on the farm, just need pointers on a few things. We recently had our Case 970 overhauled, & after 50 hours, it spun a bearing. Tried cleaning up the crank still in the tractor & installing new bearings. It lasted about 20 minutes & spun again. Going to take the crank out & have it ground this winter. My thoughts lately are that you have to do the work yourself if you want it done right. Take care!

I also enjoy the fact that you don't run all brand new equipment, like many of the other farming channels. A channel of a guy that does what I do, with the same range of equipment most of us use, with detail, & with a good attitude. I could watch all day, but stuff has to get done. Take care!

John thanks John. When an operation is big enough, having new equipment and turning it over every few years can make sense. For small operations though, it's hard enough to make the math work without massive equipment payments.

I have a tendency to over look the obvious. On the 3pt hitch did you check the draft control? I think you did but I had to ask.
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
Yes. The draft control cable and valve linkage were seized so I disconnected them, that didn't help. From looking in the manual I think there's a valve or two that could be causing both hydraulic problems.

Hello from eastern europe. I just want to say that this model is damm good tractor. My family purchased our ts 115a 14 years ago from dealership as new. Now it has 10000 working hours and it still is going strong never had any engine or turbo problems. Never had any transmission problems besides one bad clutch package and it was manufacture fault and it was replaced under warranty. We never had any electronical fault every button and switch works like it supposed to. And it has seen heavy duty work in our dairy farm. I think the secret of having good tractor is takeing good Cafe of it. NEVER buy used tractor that is difficult to repair like this tractor. If the probleem is like your axle or bearing is broken then it you can do it yourself and replace it. BUT if the probleem is with your Engine or transmission then its only repairable in dealership. And its not cheap 20 k is transmission rebuild and engine is 10 k rebuild (in euros)
@MsSlam12343 жыл бұрын
I meant takeing good care of it. Not Cafe. Fucking spelling check. Dumbbest thing in my phone😃

thanks for good video and I am interested to know what is problem with engine so I am going to subscribe I remember a farmer 2 miles away bought a new TS90 and there was problems with engine smoking from the beginning and the cause was faulty injector pump!! could your problem be caused by low sulphur fuel??
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
This tractor was designed for LSD, but I seriously doubt the switch to ULSD could have done this. I do think a fuel problem is a high likelihood.

Those are expensive engines to overhaul and CNH is horrible with parts supply, lots if discontinued or not available. I think the block is sleeveless to make things more fun. Good luck, I hope it turns out to be a simple fix . with the hours that the tractor has things could snowball fast when you start getting into it.

A Man in Alberta, Virginia bought a New Holland tractor 🚜 Brand New.He has had NOTHING BUT MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH HIS TRACTOR. Big problems after Big problems. And No Help from New Holland.
@ShainAndrews7 жыл бұрын
That uhhh.... that is a solid miss. I see one guy below said the IP's were problematic... but that won't cause low compression. Probably have a dusted engine. Somebody didn't put the air filter back in correctly at some point? Ball hone and rings as long as long as the damage is not extensive. I"ll be very surprised if overhead adjustment changes anything but you never know with a mystery machine.
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
Compression is a little down on the one cylinder, but like you I'm not entirely convinced an adjustment will fix it.
@hollerhavenfarms247 жыл бұрын
I going with broken valve, if the the fuel side is good. I am betting that is why the miss is present as the cylinder is not burning the fuel and causing the low temp reading. The Oil was good when you changed it ? So that to me would rule out the head gasket. Good vids. I like short ones. Not fan of more than 10 or 15 mins. Keep em coming.

I'll throw my 2 cents in as being a lift pump issue. Had a Cat / Perkins in a chipper recently with similar problems, idles ok, try to rev it at all, coughed sputtered and white / black smoke. Turned out the electric lift pump was DOA.

Interesting. This has a cam driven mechanical lift pump, it is a possibility.

On that Cummins / Case 6BTA, it's a weird looking angular piston pump. I have had them go bad. Did an autopsy on the bad one and one of the valves had fallen apart.

Guy in WY Id say its fuel shortage, as the smoking is white. Hows the filters. How many hrs on it? Could be ran dry too many times and broke the pump.
@robpitch27787 жыл бұрын
Sicktrickintuner not necessarily, white smoke is unburnt diesel, like you see when you cold start as the engine is turned in over, for some reason the fuel is not getting ignited in that cylinder.

Guy in WY ok thank you for the update can't wait for the start of the 8n project
@snowmandan92677 жыл бұрын
The compression on a Diesel engine cylinder should about 400 to 500. Im saying you might have a bad head gasket. First check to torque spec for the headbolts and then check them. Because if the head bolts weren't torqued to the right spec the head gasket wouldn't seal. Also run the tractor and get it up to temperature and check the temperature on the exhaust manifold. Good lick
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
+snowmandan9 thank you. Head gasket is possible and compression is low, but for an engine with over 8300 hours I can live with low compression for a bit of I can solve the miss.
@bigrigtalkgaming7 жыл бұрын
sounds like seller wasn't forth coming with the problems and there is no way he didn't know about it which gives good suspicion as to why he truly sold this tractor. Hope it doesn't turn into a money pit for you

The seller is a buyer and seller of used tractors, in my opinion several things were misrepresented. @klugfarmsklug93237 жыл бұрын
Is this tractor under warrentee? Probably not as your doing all the work of checking stuff. Maybe the 3 point hitch is set in the cab to only go that low. Or it needs weight on the arms / sticking that it won't go all the way down. I had that problem with a 8130 JD i traded last year, just need to spray some lube on the pins......... would of solved the problem. I did use it a lot on the corn stalk mover all those years, you would of thought it would of loosened up . Some times the electronics in the cab would change setting, to limit it going down, then i would have to read the book again............

Compression test and leak down test both are subject to misleading results with an engine that doesn't run right to start with. Keeping that in mind then one can make use of those tests as they aren't a complete waste of time. I would be pulling the injector pump after finding a decent shop that does competent work on them, which will be the major issue in my mind. I'm glad I don't have to do that.

The closest shop is about an hour away, but I don't know much about them yet.

I hate to hear about your new tractor. You were so excited when you got it.

I was expecting problems, but not quite like this.

Generally compression should be within 8-10% between the highest and lowest. Check valve clearances and cylinder leak down test. You should have a better idea which way to go. Good luck.

Thank you AAR2VZ, I adjusted the valves today and a leak down test is my next step.

did you ever find out what was wrong just stumbled on this video operate one of these for a while had heaps of issues with it remotes sticking and constantly leaking pto switch kept clapping out if fan belt went it would boil in mere seconds and crack heads air con radiator leaked after 500 hours around the little loops at top and bottom hated every hour i sat in the dam thing.. was soon replaced by owner..

+Mick Hulsen haven't nailed down the problem just yet, but hopefully I can get back at it soon.

probably its the head gasket, cracked around the cylinder 1. in my opinion the hydraulic problem on the 3 point is way more serious than the engine
@Pesa_7 жыл бұрын
probably, but i got that impression from the start, with lower compression you get lower temperature on the cylinder, not all the time, but depends on the case
@GuyinWY7 жыл бұрын
Head gasket could be a possibility.

Huh, 💯? Congrats... My first view. I'm almost 80, former farmer; disabled, drafted, and combat Vietnam vet. I've got a PhD with civilian government service. Worked in corrupted DC, where their all crooks, our family farm was eminent domained by government. My nephew lived in Cody and moved to warm Florida. Anyway, best to you and good luck. My grandfather owned an Allis Chalmers, Ford, and Massey Harris dealership. I wouldn't touch a dealership for anything. Regards...

+fastetsinthewest thanks for being here! Cody is a great place, but Florida has much milder winters. :)

We have a T6030 which would have the same engine. Put 11 000 hours on it and the engines been flawless

DLH Farms here on KZfaq has (had?) a 6030 also and liked it. I really liked the TS115A, this particular one just had issues. I’d like to try another NH someday. 👍
