This is typical Made in JAPAN, every step of the way is done to perfection, the finished pot looks amazing, the Japanese really are spoilt for having everything made locally to the highest of quality.

Imagine a pot lid with a hole and a movable flap. When there is steam, the steam pushes up the flap to exit. When there is no steam, the flap drops and close the hole to keep the food warm.

Obviously not meant for a Western market. Ridges on the interior bottom will prevent the pot from being used to sear. Basic braise technique is to sear the meat, then aromatics, then use a liquid to dissolve the fond on the bottom. I have about 6 enameled cast iron Dutch Ovens & all have glass smooth finishes which helps with clean-up. I thought that enamel contains glass which is baked on these seem to be powder coated. If I'm wrong, please correct me--I like to learn.

Absolutely amazing video, as always. But if i may just suggest not including the music in future videos? It's more entertaining when all you hear are the sounds of the machines and ambient sounds. The music is more of a distraction and unnecessarily changes the tone of the video.

I remember when I was a kid (about 1960's) the " Made in Japan " label meant "Cheep & Cheerful" ie - Use it as long as you can until it falls apart ... then buy another! If you wanted "Quality" you stumped up a load more cash and bought a British item! Times sure have changed ...............

When I was a kid (circa 1960s), I remember that "Made in USA" cars were "Cheep & Cheerful", meaning, use it as long as you can until it falls apart, then buy the next one! If you wanted "quality", you paid more for a Japanese product! Times have certainly changed.

I believe it simply mean the dial gauge measured diameter of the lid. Maybe it helps in minimize the vapor leak so the curry can be cooked without single drop of water.
