I actually saw this movie when it came out in the theater in 1993, and it still had the scene intact. I probably saw it the first or second night it was out.

I've been waiting decades to see this infamous scene. It almost couldn't live up to the hype around it.

We would watch this before every home game my sophomore year in high school..holds a special place in my heart

Just saw this for the 1st time and no way this would be in a movie today. The person that showed it to me said people started doing this when the movie came out in 1993. That's why they pulled it out of the movie when it came out on VHS. Crazy.

Michael Shingledecker, 18, of Stoneboro, Pa, died copying this stunt. His friend Dean Bartlett, 17, was also badly hurt. Marco Birkhimer, 24, of New Jersey was also killed doing this, with Michael Macias, 17, put in critical condition.

I haven’t seen this scene in 30 years. It still gets my adrenaline going just watching it. It’s kinda like when you could rent real life snuff films of people getting killed and all kinds of grisly stuff, the movie was called “Faces of Death”

I saw it in the theater the day it came out and was glad I got to see this scene before they deleted it out. I remember thinking what crazy bastards lol

For those of you who are curious, not only was this scene in the original print of the film, it appears just 10 minutes into the movie! I have an Australian Region 4 DVD, and sure enough, this scene is in there! Shame they had to cut it out, but it’s out there if you know where to look!

Had a great dinner in that restaurant Tuesday night. It is now called Terra's. Our lifelong friends own the building to the left that you see while they are lying in the street and when the main character jumps the rail you see the driveway/parking lot. It is called Jumper, Carter, Sease Architects building. If you ever get a chance to visit Columbia it is a great place to visit. This scene was filmed in West Columbia. Columbia is on the other side of the bridge.

Here in Mexico City I remember we rented it at Blockbuster in 1997. Perhaps for the foreign market it was not so controlled and we were able to see it without censorship. I remember this movie very well because of this scene and Lattimer.

I remember this movie and scene in high school, I looked for the movie and this scene was not there, I even thought that maybe I confused it. But I thought that in new editions they would have eliminated it.

This actually wasn’t a deleted scene. It was part of the Final Cut. It was shown in the movies. A lot of idiots was doing this stunt in real and few have gotten killed as a result. When they released it on home video, they cut the scene.

I was like 18 when this came out and this scene that most of us never saw was still being talked about a few years later Now i know the kid that told me he saw it was lying or he was lied to because he quoted some dialogue that wasn't there. Also ...what a weird street. Theres a fence but the small businesses on the side make it seem like the speed limit should be no faster than 35 and there's way too many cars. I pictured a typical 3 lane highway.

I was in high school and my classmates and I did this. Although not in the middle of the street but near the sidewalk but it was still emotionally stupid and fun.

I remember this scene from the theatrical release then all the controversy when idiot kids went out and copycatted it.

I remember seeing this in the commercials when I was in my early 20s and I thought "oh my god, someone's going to get killed trying that" because it looks exciting and almost safe +as long as you stay on the line 🙄). Really dumb choice they made.

Heard about this scene for years…… never saw it. Heard a myth (possibly) some team/team members) actually died doing this?? After the movie came out.No idea if it’s true. Now people fall off cliffs trying to catch an invisible non existent poke man japanimation thing. Or driving blind from the Bird Box movie…. 😐
