We ventured deep into the market streets of Tunis, Tunisia and it was absolutely class.
We ate loads of delicious traditional Tunisian food and met some super kind Tunis locals.
Tunisian people are fantastic and I've gotta say they really look after you.
Tunis is probably one of the only capital cities we actually like ahah.
This is the proper Tunis, Tunisia 🇹🇳

The reason prices are in thousands is because until the 2000s the lowest unit of currency was the "millime" coin. That's why most food prices are based on millimes or "thousandths" of a Dinar and not cents. 500 for instance means 500 millimes or 50 centimes or cents (of which th concept does not exist in Tunisia). So there you go in case you were wondering.

You've lived such a local experience that I spotted some places I've never been to as a Tunisian ! The bowl of droo you wondered about is is simply Tunisian sorghum porridge, and it is produced locally ... the man added sugar because they cooked it without, and whatever added to the bowl depends on the client's taste. The vendor added sesame seeds, raisins, greenish coloured chamia which is a traditional Arabic sweet made from tahini, and then he asked whether to add dried ginger or not ... A lot of vendors add ground almonds or any other nuts ! Now, I have to admit that in Tunisia, we eat the best food in the whole world ! Very tasty fresh veggies, fish and food thanks to a South Mediterranean weather, plus a large portion of what we eat is locally produced ... Long live Tunisia ! My country is just exceptional …!

Hey guys! What you ate for breakfast was millet pudding. It’s a hearty breakfast people have in Tunisia. I hope you enjoyed your trip and I enjoyed the video.

Also, the old gentleman that you took a close up of selling a bunch of stuff in a cart is called robavikia that’s why he saying Roba-Vic. The word translates to Roppa Veccia which is Italian for old clothes/stuff. It’s a super old profession in which the guy would go around neighborhoods screaming out “Robavikia” and people would bring out things they would like to sell or buy from him! A walking flee market 😁

You went to the places not many Tunisians dare enter hahah nice video mate, but try something else than the dead center of the capital, it can be too busy sometimes. Even as a Tunisian I only go there when I absolutely need to! Also they ask you which Manchester you like, say ManUnited, we have a Tunisian player who plays there Hannibal Mejbri

22:30 The old man is telling he is doing "Roobba'Fikya" or "Rooba'fik", and to "écrire" or write in the caption that that's his occupation. Basically he is a travelling used wares (usually clothes) salesman he travels through neighborhoods and screams "FRIGYA FRIGYA ROBBA FRIKYA" at the top of his lungs and people will come out to check what he has to sell. Robbafikya salesmen will also rummage for their wares while they're traveling. The robba part is probably from the Spanish "Ropa" or clothes... The rest I do not know.
