Great post. One key in emotional marketing is the use of music. It enhances the experience and ties your emotions to the content.

00:04 Advertising shapes society and influences daily decisions. 01:26 Advertising helps businesses reach customers 02:25 Successful ads evoke emotions, not just showcase product qualities. 03:28 Perfume commercials showcase the artistry and mood of fragrances. 05:12 Two perfume commercials take different approaches to advertising. 06:12 Good advertising helps us build an identity. 07:15 Advertising appeals to our subconscious mind 08:20 Good advertising feeds off our insecurities and deficiencies, leading to unnecessary purchases

It seems the key thing to draw from this is SHOW, DON'T TELL. It's difficult to express value through logical words. It is easy to FEEL value through emotional words or visuals.

Great video! The ending is deep and unsettling, but true. The economy runs purely on our desire to "be someone" - an ideal. Today we have more choices than ever before and also more anxiety. More comparisons. More pressure. It's ironic that we'd probably be happier if we had less.

Importance of good advertising: In a saturated market, where choices abound, good advertising distinguishes products by either highlighting their qualities or evoking emotional responses, playing a crucial role in consumers' decision-making. Emotional appeal in advertising: Successful advertising often relies on creating a strong emotional connection with the audience, with memorable campaigns focusing on feelings and associations rather than explicit product details. Building identity through advertising: Advertising helps individuals answer fundamental questions about themselves by providing a shortcut to decision-making, offering a pre-packaged identity associated with a product, and alleviating the burden of self-determination.

Showcasing the outcome of the product by addressing the right emotions, can help a brand create a strong impact. In the end it should be less of an advertisement and more like an awakening and hope arousing.

Great video man, it is really spot on! You nailed it with the Emotional response versus the Thought response, and how much better in certain cases, if an ad campaign can effectively combine the two! Such as in the Giorgio Armani, and many movie trailers.

"Who am I?" is really what underlines advertising. Brands are simply trying to give you an identity via advertising. That forms the core, the foundation of it. Being a small biz owner and having no orthodox education in business, I try to figure things out on my own. For long, I was not being able to figure this one out - what is at the very core of advertising? Today I know and understand. Thanks a ton. ❤

I was very successful in 100% commission ad sales when I was younger. I got to work with many businesses of various sizes and Scopes. I understand the value and reality of stake holder capitalism. I also remember working with muscular dystrophy patients and how valuable proper ADA certifications are to families. And, working as a volunteer at a suicide prevention call center… there’s not a lot of “markup” or “margin”, on keeping people attached to a world which can be very unfeeling… but, the family’s would certainly find Value in that work. Sectors and markets matter.

I liked the first perfume ad wayy better because it focused on the woman's feeling about herself whereas the second one, clearly, is not meant to attract women but to attract men. Like male gaze to the extreme. "Etereal beauty?" no. "Sex object," yes.
@segunsamuel1665
@segunsamuel1665 Жыл бұрын
Exactly… the ad touched on points like portability (able to carry along in your purse), benefits- feel lovely and self assure the second ad for me just has great music and a sexy woman. I guess it targets specific people because it doesn’t speak to me.
@hellovagim
@hellovagim Жыл бұрын
Not really, the second commercial has an attractive woman yes, but it’s more than that, there are also the environment, the forest, rain, to bring out the concept of the product.

I feel like its more honest and just says “That’s what it is” which you can refute if wrong. Meanwhile the other is just trying to sell you based on your lifestyle and emotions. That’s what I think at least.

"How dare a woman be attractive"
@bethfraser9938
@bethfraser9938 7 ай бұрын
@@ericeversole7943 that’s not the problem at all. It’s just that the first perfume ad seems to be catering to women and the second to men. As a woman (and an attractive one I might add) the first ad is more engaging to me. But men buy perfume for women too, and the second ad capitalises on that market.

Madison Avenue is more successful at shaping our cultural values than we usually care to know or talk about. Corporations, through advertising, have taken over the role of both the church and government! We conform to the norm so we don't become ostracised or eaten! If you subscribe to what everybody else subscribes to, you won't stand out for possible ridicule, nay, definite ridicule. The subject of stand-up comedians is usually the marginalised, already the easy targets of low-hanging fruit. Comedians usually punch downward, with the notable exception of George Carlin. R.I.P. Today we are considered successful if we display relatively rare things for others to see. Our quest for exclusivity is our collective life's work. However, what's good for the corporation is not necessarily good for the community's mental health. Now, you are considered a moral reprobate, deserving of violent punishment if you are not interested in or able to purchase status symbols sufficiently impressive for the jury of public. What's that? Mob rule? Stupid crowd rule? The president should be able to be a poor person, for instance, if they were sane, genuine people of good character, but NO! We all know we, the people, will never allow it. Individually we are smart, but collectively we are drooling half-wits! Myself included, of course. 🤪🤡🎭
