The PT15 I.R. is the world’s first truly hybrid amplifier, marrying classic tube circuitry with a reactive load and digital impulse response technology.
With the PT15 I.R. we set out to combine the strengths of both analog and digital to create something new. The addition of a built-in Reactive Load and on-board impulse responses, make using a speaker cabinet optional for recording, or feeding front of house with a studio quality mic’ed up tone. Also included is a headphone output and auxiliary input to practice and jam along with your favorite tracks, wherever you are.
The all-tube three channel design offers a plethora of American and British tones, powered by a new 6V6 driven power section. The dynamics, overdrive, saturation and harmonics that we crave as tonal purists, is all here. By adding channel assignable IRs, you now have unprecedented versatility and control over your tone, expanding your choices more than ever before.

Best demo I've heard. The cab sounds were a little muffled compared to IR's, but a simple twist of EQ or moving ribbon would probably bring back some of that high end.

I am so getting one of these amps. I had to laugh every time he was like... "this is bright!" LOL I have a 100watt 2203 and a 50watt Plexi; both have bright caps. The classic tones were bright. Modern players get thrown off with the brighter vintage tones.

The Hook Wizard would be a nice comparison... Less advanced but great versatility would be the 3P Kitchen Sink and Carr Mercury V.

Hello Jim great review on the Suhr amp. I had a question over your method of connecting your pedals and guitar to the amp. Did you connect straight to the amp? Were you running through the effects loop? Please let me know, thanks Jim

He definitely was running them in the loop, the delays were far too clean on those drive channels to be front-of-amp.

All amps can get a basic clean, but, can this amp really do high gain without mudding up and without a boost on front end, intricate picking on low E, not strumming rock chords?

Do you think channel 1 is black face or vox.. I really like chimey two rock sounds been digging through the internet to see if it can pull off those glassy vibes

There’s not much on the web for this amp. I’ve been wondering if it’s for me and if 15 watt is enough headroom.

Fender like clean. Pete uses a few other amps for his vox sounds. Good news is with am origin effects revival drive pedal, or a Wampler 30 something, not to mention countless IR options, you can achieve a vox like tone out of a fender clean. Not so easy the other way around. And with IR options, you can expand headroom greatly. Good luck

@@joshua0226 also, if you can afford this, you can afford a two rock if that's your thing. Either way you'll be getting a great amp.

I love this amp but that 3k price tag needs to come down out of the Thermosphere.
@imgspot

Try to find one excellent sounding 3 channel valve amp, one good reactive load, 3 digital impulse devices, one headphone output, one aux input and make everything work together the way this amp does... all for less than 3k. Even if you would manage to find all those devices for less than 3k, you would NEVER come close to this type of integration and practicability. These guys did went out to the "Thermosphere"... and came back with the PT15 I.R....

@@imgspot Everything Suhr is expensive! I know I used to own a few of their products, I've toured the factory met John and a few of the techs. It's good stuff just a little out of the ballpark for what it is.

Then buy something made in your country. International distribution and import / duty are not the amps fault.
