The relationship between these two is tragic. Karen clearly loves Frank but can't embrace his way of life or his outlook on the world --- and he clearly loves her, but can't go back to the kind of life he used to have after everything he's lost and everything he's done.

Because the series starts with his family's death caused by a massively complicated conspiracy. His wife hardly gets a moment of screen time to develop that chemistry. Her and Frank's marriage backstory is told in flashbacks.

Don't worry. I think that Disney will revive them. The creative process was under Marvel Television's responsibility (so don't worry about the quality) and the contract Disney had with Netflix allows them two years after cancellation (so 2022) to be responsible for it again, 'cause Disney have no their own streaming service and can produce and release these kinda series themselves now. But don't get over excited yet, Disney stated them so far only as worth reviving. But at least it's something.

Karen has fallen for frank. If it wasn't clear before, it is now! Frank too but it's more complicated with frank because he is too damaged! I think in his mind if he lets Karen in, (he already has but "in" as in a more serious and romantic way) and she gets hurt or like, people will always want to hurt him and that might get her killed. Just like they did with his family (he has actually addressed this before in s1) he wouldn't handle it. Not again. He cares about her too much to let this happen. This is all so beautifully heartbreaking.

sadly, this is why about half of military marriages fall apart. The partner (usually the husband) is a killer trained by the military. Some retired military go to alcohol or drugs simply because they can't mentally cope with trauma and telling their family anything won't go anywhere. Some divorce right away and wish their wife and kids the best, then go right back in because the military teaches you how to kill, but they never teach you how to reintegrate back into civilian life. It's a sad existence for some military members.

Seeing what happened to Curt, not being in this season at all is likely the greatest gift that could be given to Micro and his family. Perhaps if the series is renewed in a different format he can return, but I'm cool with them just having time to return to something resembling a life. He earned it.

You can truly see that he loves her because the look in his eyes are really different than how he looks at someone else. I just keep rewatching this scene and it sucks because the girl interrupted them! I wanted to see what would've happened but I'm happy because of this scene they let us know that they have romantic feelings for each other but still it would've been perfect if there were a kiss scene. I just hope they don't cancel this show so that we can see how their relationship will continue because if it ends like this I would be just really mad!

It definitely is and Jon Bernthal even said in a recent interview that Frank loves Karen he is just in such a dark place that he can't imagine a life with her and her staying alive. I feel like if we get a season 3 Frank will learn how to balance his Punisher life and the life he has with the people he loves and will eventually be with Karen.

@NattyJane. TECHNICALLY, he was confronting her feelings about him and him her. When he mentioned Matt that was him discussing her feelings. (Because if she didn't have feelings for Frank she wouldn't have hid her visit from Matt) Secondly, Frank tells her that Matt is good for her and he isn't. He THEN tries to push her away when he constantly says, "I kill people, that's who I am, it's what I do, you want to be apart of that?!?!" Then Karen gets upset and he tells her to "hang on". That's when he says, "I have to do this and you can't be apart of it." Basically, he is TECHNICALLY, confronting their feelings and "breaking them apart" at the same time. This was their "cutting ties moment" and when Karen said, "Good Luck, Frank" that was her final goodbye.

It’s clear as day who Karen wants. Frank Castle Over Matt. She understands the reason behind his madness and if you saw DD season 3 she had a history of violence. In this scene, she’s practically telling him stop dreaming about the past and let go. It’s possible to love again. Karen hint hint* Then little Amy comes in and cock blocks them. Jon said in an interview if there were to be a season 3, he wanted more him and Karen, but we all know where this show is sadly headed 😭

I agree I watched the Punisher first and didn’t know much about Karen but really liked her scenes with Frank now I’m into season 2 of Daredevil and see no chemistry with Matt and Karen I like them both but as friends them starting a relationship came out of nowhere and I’m watching the episode where she visits Frank in the hospital and talks about his family and he asks her not to leave omg I love Karen for Frank you can clearly see in Daredevil how concerned she is about him but once she appears in the Punisher you can see she has feelings for him I really wished the shows continued because I reckon Karen and Frank would have hooked up and I really like Matt with Elektra I even liked the idea of Matt and Claire but they never explored that Karen and Frank always belonged together sadly we won’t get to see it though

I agree with both of you and I wanted to see them end up together, but I don't know how that could have happened. This scene feels like a tragic but satisfying send off for these characters, because the writers took their potential relationship to its logical extent. Frank verbally chose his role as the Punisher over Karen. He won't allow himself to get involved with Karen because she would probably lose everything else in her life and might get killed. But also he is not willing to walk away from the violence. Obviously he would have to finish the plot of this season, but he's not promising to come back for her. He knows there will always be another war that he will want to fight. Unless something changes they could never be together.

Richard Ramirez (Night Stalker) and Ted Bundy had dozens if not hundreds of female fans 100% certain of their innocence, heck Bundy literally married one while on death row. Karen is no different. It's obvious she looks down on Matt as a lying half measured hypocrite (always fighting the same bad guys again and again, taking vengeance in his hands) while she clearly respects and admires Punisher's full measure (if you're going vigilante, go all the way), plus the fact he's not a liar (he doesn't have a secret identity).

@@el_killorcure That's an interesting point. I half agree. Karen's tolerance for Frank's violence is a lot higher than mine would be. (I mean personally murder is a deal-breaker.) But I don't think of Karen as a serial killer grouppie, because she's not attracted to Frank's violence or power or whatever. She wants it to stop. She prefers to think of him as a loving family man who is trapped in a bad situation. That's why it's hard for her to hear that he doesn't want to stop. I don't know. Maybe some serial killer grouppies are like that. Maybe that's another good reason the writers wrote these characters into opposite directions.

@@Lauren-ol1qn Women like Karen love "projects". Half of Ramirez or Bundy fans sort of accepted they were guilty if pressed, but insisted "they" could "fix" them if given the chance. Karen is obviously excited by Frank's "power" whether she is aware or not (her own history of violence) and if they ever hooked up and Frank retired he would suddenly no longer seem so appealing to her (once it dawns on her that she's stuck providing for an unemployable fugitive nutcase minus the thrill). And Castle is also portrayed too generously. The original Punisher (Vietnam veteran) was way more sociopathic, and the MAX series (where he finally died at 65 years old in 2012) showed he was never a good husband nor father, and couldn't wait to leave them to go back to the war. A monster, through and through...

After watching the first episode of the season where Frank bangs a random woman met in a bar, I needed more than one episode with Karen and just one "almost kiss" scene with repressed feelings. I mean, if I knew that a season 3 was planned, yeah I could settle for this... But now I'm drowning in frustration!! I get the idea: if you want a Punisher show, you can't have him being in love and happy, but still... those two...

The truth is as beautiful as their dynamic is, it was never gonna make it to the finish line. She loves him and he loves her but when she asks him to try, he knows himself to well to even believe that he can change. This is never gonna be pretty but it was this perfect, beautiful light amidst all the chaos and darkness. His relationship with Karen was a reprieve.

2022 and Rewatching the show and love all their scenes together. It hurt that the fact he had to let her go, because if he doesn’t he will not become the Punisher. He knows that if people find outs about her they will do the same that they did to his family. I know that Disney is bringing back Daredevil for 2024 and I read that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role of the Punisher in Daredevil.

Logically speaking, Matt is still Karen's best choice. Like Frank himself said, Matt is one of good ones, and he doesn't want Karen lose Matt for him. As Punisher, there will be no happy ending for him. His own War will never end until he dies in the battlefield. But Karen and Frank obviously know each other better. I see they are more like soulmate. In Daredevil season 3, we saw Karen's past. Her guilty for accidentally killing her brother, somehow has similar parts to Frank Castle that brings back his war to his family. I guess this complicated relationship has been very clear. Matt is still Karen's ideal partner but Frank Castle is Karen's soulmate that can truly understand her. Between Matt and Frank, well, yin and yang or the same coin with two sides I guess. Believe or not, I feel Matt is like the brother that Frank somehow sees.

Matt doesn't want Karen. He wants Elektra. He's not her "best choice". He treats her like she needs to fit the ideal of who he pretends to be. Like when she shared her opinion about what Frank did in s2. He told her to leave his apartment. It was so awkward. He doesn't love Karen FOR Karen. He loves the idea of what she represents - and it's a false image because Karen has her own darkness. Matt literally wanted to die with Elektra. That's his true love. Why should Karen he his default?

Carl Flec If everything followed comics, Karen should be dead under 6 ground. Electra should have history with punisher after her resurrection. Besides,even in comics, Matt got a lot of girlfriends. You can only say Electra shares the strongest bond with him. Besides, I'm not saying Karen and Matt will definitely be something. I'm just saying logically punisher will be a more unlike choice.

I Am Here In this case I emphasized it's a logic speaking. Matt loves Elektra more. Definitely. But can Elektra just settle down for him? Even in comics, Matt got more than one girl,and he officially dated many. But Elektra is always like his wild love as Daredevil. Also, in the entire series, does Karen really have more choices? I'm just saying between Matt and Frank, in logic,Matt still has a little bit possibility. Frank as Punisher will always be alone for sure. Maybe he can get some girls for one night stand but in the long run, Punisher will never end being Punisher. All I'm here saying is not what I ship,it's all about logic since Netflix has to tease this kind of triangle.

flicked past this for at least 5 months not even curious, eventually threw on on Ep1 & give it a go, Have watched the entire series 3 times now and am as moved by it & Frank Castle the man as much now as the 1st time i sawThe Punisher’ in action, For a combination of reasons watching this series was/is/always will be honestly one of the most unforgettable EPIC viewing experiences of my life !!! In fact, we only see his feet twice very briefly, in DD season 1 after he kills Weasley, he comes home and you can see his heels for a few seconds and in season 2 when he's talking to Matt on the couch. Here we see her completely transformed into Cinderella, the truth is that she has very sexy feet.

Amy! G-d it! This is the only reason I kinda hated her character the last couple episodes... Marvel’s biggest 🐓block EVER! This may be the last season of Punisher and the writers could’ve threw us Kastle shippers a bone. Wouldn’t have killed them to let us have one kiss?!

After watching this scene a few times, I honestly feel there's some type of edit/deleted scene. When Frank and Karen are face to face, Amy walks in, but they next shot you see is Karen wayyyy behind Frank putting on her coat and he has this disappointing look on his face. There was definitely an edit between Amy walking in and seeing their next shot. Guess we'll find out on the DVD.

what DVD? I don't think they even put season 1 out on DVD. & they definitely don't put out deleted scenes. but yes i noticed the same thing!! also when Frank is talking about Madani being as batshit and lost as him you can tell that the audio doesn't match up with the movement of his face?? & you can see Karen mouth 'yeah, yeah' but we don't hear it? ALSO though when Frank is talking about how much he appreciates Karen being there he ends by saying, "You sat with me", but it doesn't sound like an ending statement. Like maybe they cut out the rest?? If they did (which is most likely the case) it makes this scene hurt that much more.

@@claudettem7245 I said it'll probably show ON the DVD. Not that the DVD came out. It can't come out when the season just released. And they do show deleted scenes because I've seen them. And whatever sound effects/visual glitches you're seeing, I think that just might be something wrong with your system, because there's none of that going on on my end. Not even when I was watching the series on my TV. If it's not your system then it could be the video. But nothing is "out of sync" on my end.

I watched the punisher series first before daredevil I’m halfway into daredevil season 2 and absolutely love these two I don’t see anything with Matt and Karen at all no chemistry Karen is a nice girl but just doesn’t suit Matt she suits Frank she is the only person left besides Amy that he cares about wish we got more seasons I wanted to see something develop with these two

@@mentholmoose If you watch the scene where Murdock starts to Question Castle in court, he slips up and refers to him as "Frank". When Murdock asks if he can call him that, Frank already put the pieces together after hearing his name said in that voice. That's why Frank took a while to respond, because of his surprise.

Even Frank realizes that Matt is Karen's soulmate, that's why he asked if she told Matt that she was visiting him and she couldn't even answer him. The things you do in secret are never the things that truly last. But Frank also realizes that Karen sees him as her own personal redemption, that if she can turn into him something that Matt is, that she can be redeemed as well. While Frank doesn't like a lot of things about himself, he does understand who is and is completely fine with it. He knows that Karen doesn't want Frank's life and while her guilt for the accidental death of her brother and killing Wesley allows her to feel a kindred bond to Frank, even Frank knows that she truly isn't a killer and has no taste for a life of murder or murder in general, which is why she begged Matt not to kill Fisk in Daredevil S3. Matt is Karen's light
