The punk scene in the 90s always had 30 and 40 y.o. guys in bands hooking up with teenagers in every town. When you're a teenager it just seems weird, then in your 20s it hits you. The worst part of this is the band pretending like they didn't know anything about it.

As a SA survivor, this makes me extremely angry. It explains a lot about why the rest of the band closed up shop immediately! There was nothing to deny or a case to make or any way to spin it in their favor. Life is complicated and precious, and it can all change and come crashing down in an instant - especially if you are playing with fire!

Years ago on the band’s website, I can recall each member being listed as 19 years old, even though they were obviously well older. Does anyone else remember this? I might be connecting dots that don’t need to be connected, but it is rather odd thinking about it now IMO.

These allegations are nauseating and absolutely abhorrent. As a punk, femininst, a fan of AF, and a mother of a 12 year old daughter, these horrorific stories literally turn my stomach. . I am 40 and have been a punk and AF fan since the late 90s. I have been to multiple shows of theirs in the Buffalo area and have met the band and Justin and I had a 5 minute conversation about my fair dye. I was so thrilled to have HIM having a real conversation with me!!! It was on ofbthe best moments of my life!! I never once felt threatened by him....I am only 4'11" and I was single and had been drinking some, I very easily could have fell victim to him and brought him to my daughter!!! That is so scary!! I'm so glad we only spoke about hair dye and one of my best buddies who is like a brother to me was with me and a huge guy. It makes me so sick to think I was so enamored and star struck with him, I didn't even see or feel any red flags I usually have a excellent creep radar.

I’m going to be straight forward here. You and I really don’t align on certain subjects (like blink, Travis, etc), but as a victim of sexual assault when I was a kid - this was fucking refreshing and honest and really nice to hear. I’ve dealt with my trauma through the years, though it’s been a hard journey. And anti-flag was such a big part of shaping my political structure growing up (and I just saw them a few months ago), so it was heartbreaking to hear this news. But you broke it down exactly as it needed to be. I’m looked up to Justin and the band and this actually fucked me up on a whole different level. It opened wounds from my own sexual abuse that made me feel so bad for these women.

I literally just heard about this crazy and very despicable situation. So I'm at the present moment 40 yrs of age. When I was in my mid teens (15-16) I had already dived head first down the rabbit hole known as punk rock in the past year and a half. Then I was gifted a mix tape (that statement alone dates me lol) and on said tape was a healthy mix of Propagandhi, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys and this little band from Pittsburgh called Anti Flag. The tracks included were basically all "The Classics" from the "Die For The Government" LP. I was in love instantly with the band. I bought "A New Kind Of Army" when it was released. Those two albums were the soundtrack of my life for the better part of 2 years. Long story short, I kinda wasn't a big fan of some of their future material. But hearing/learning about what a textbook predator he had/has been is not only shocking but inexcusable. My heart goes out to any and everyone that was victimized by him. And good of his former band mates/friends for coming out and essentially breaking and ending all ties to him. I still can't wrap my head around it.

It bums me out that I was suprised to find your compassionate responce that doesn't downplay how predatory this man is and the severity of his crimes, after searching this topic and finding a bunch of podcast bros doing exactly that- and on with their 'allegations haven't been proven (not as a disclaimer for legality's sake, but as an imperative not to rush to judge this pos) despite the significant witness corroboration and evidence RS found. I just heard about all this yesterday. Thanks for sitting with and not dissasociating from the material, as painful as it is to imagine what these people experienced at the hands of this human predator, as pain as it is allowing yourself to feel. I cried again, watching this, like when I read the RS article yesterday, however I think it was a good thing to reexperience the shock and horror again with company.

I liked the back patch on a jacket that I had from the "for blood and empire" times. I really didn't want to take all the stitches out, so I made a stencil and sprayed "anti-" above "anti-flag". Seemed like an alright option.

To be clear, BDSM is not the problem here, so if youre personally grossed out by BDSM that doesnt matter bc that is not the part of this that is wrong. Consent is key, and teenagers cant consent to BDSM with adult men. Even age gaps are not the problem here, its the specific ages: an adult man having sex with underage teenage girls who can hardly consent, w the huge difference in personal power dynamics. He chased teenage girls who probably didnt really know what they were getting into and for the most part cant consent to him anyway. If he tied up consenting adult women covered in spit and took calls about the dentist there would be absolutely nothing with that. If teenagers did it to each other there wouldnt be anything wrong with it (hopefully they would be responsible about it). But a grown man using his fame to chase teenagers, taking the virginity of teenage girls, that is the problem, and a lot of it is probably statutory rape.

Was sickened by this.. CSA survivor and woman. Liked and respected anti flag so much. This hurt..it inspired my grad school essay and I got in. I start tomorrow and want to br a therapist for kids who've experienced trauma and abuse. Kristina is such an inspiration to me.
