Welcome to Movie Shortens. Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) try to escape Chicago and go on an adventure beyond the city's perimeter wall. They leave the one and only hometown and family they've ever known in quest of a peaceful solution for the first time. They find shocking new realities once they're outside, proving former discoveries worthless. As mankind faces extinction, Tris and Four must swiftly determine who to trust in order to survive. Tris will have to make difficult decisions regarding bravery, commitment, suffering, and love in the end.

Yeah, what a terrible summary of the movie. Why avoid explaining what the hell is going on? I think people know this isn't what Chicago looks like right? So...why does it look like this? He didn't think it needed to be mentioned?

Instead of wrapping up the series with a final movie, Lionsgate got greedy and decided to split it into two films, like Harry Potter and The Hunger games. Then when this film didn't perform as well as they wanted, they pulled the plug on filming a conclusion. Personally, I liked this film. It may not have been the best in the series, but it was OK. I liked seeing how the characters had evolved and wanted to see the conclusion to their stories. If a studio goes as far as making three movies of an established franchise, they should be required to follow it through to its conclusion.

Technically they're still trying to finish it as a tv show but none of the actors signed up for a tv show but a feature film.

@@NickJaime I don't count a recast, reduced budget TV show as an actual conclusion to a movie series. I wanted to see the story concluded with all the original actors. Plus, with the amount of time that's passed, I doubt the TV show will ever happen anyway. What gets me is that all the other big-budget movie series that were based on young adult books were finished. Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, etc.

This entire film series was just... yeah I don't really know the words. Weird? Bad? A subpar copy of Hunger Games? Disappointing, perhaps, is a better word. I was a fullass adult when these came out, and I had never read the books. Decided to give em' a watch one bored evening. The overall story was actually pretty fascinating I thought, I liked the concept they were working with. But the actual execution was just mad terrible. The acting and people they chose... much of the movies felt incredibly awkward to watch. I get that this was written by a young person, for a young audience, but still.

For those wanting to watch the series, don't. It's a generic YA clone of The Hunger Games which is a clone of Battle Royale and the worst part is the series ends on a cliffhanger.

Great channel. These books were during the craze of hunger games and maze runner. I didn't care for the books (all 3 if them) or the movies. The ending to all the books is Chicago is one big genetics experiment done by the former US. So stupid! Yeah this helped jumped started the teen girl hero era lol

Ok is it just me or do this movie trilogy suck like there so boring hell the books are even more boring and usually the source material is good but not in this case.
