The thing people need to realize about the Pussycat Dolls is that when people joke about 'Nicole and her backup dancers', they're technically not wrong. The other girls were meant to be dancers for the group, not vocalists, but the difference between PCD and a solo artist performing with dancers is that this is the same group of dancers every time and they're getting credit for the work they do. PCD wasn’t just about the music, they were a group of performers. Just like a ballet needs music and dance to be effective, their act was based on Nicole's vocals and the other girls' dancing. The problem was that in the music videos it's hard to get that across bc music videos always focus on the vocalist. All the girls are incredibly talented, and it's a shame that the others didn't get as much attention as Nicole, but I think the market just wasn't suited for their type of group at the time.

TheQu500 They did, and it's a shame that they didn't get more vocal parts, but I think the group was just not marketed the right way. The thing is that people tend to hate on Nicole because "she didn't let the other girls sing" when Nicole didn't really get a say in the matter.

Lol. Out of how many singers are in the world. I say nicole is overrated. She is lucky she got so popular Not all singers get recognitions as Nicole. Underrated? She is overrated just imagine all singers get recognize as Nicole. Not all singers become successful as Nicole despite how good their voice. Her voice overrated compare to many singers. @@nashhm7693 Maybe your sense of perspective revolves around pop m.i. only. The things is, Nicole can moves to several multi genre, apart from ability to dances including acting. Yes it's true, there are many talented singers not given expose, but Nicole sets apart coz she is more multidimensional animal. Many says she's underrated considering she's not notice by some award giving bodies, for the talent she have. In any case award giving bodies today's have some questionable credibility. If you have the connections and influence from inside, then you can received many recognitions you can want. Just an example, a governor from New York accused of sexual harassment was given an Emmy award. That's the sad reality of our present society today's which is now the reality also in the music and entertainment industry.

Decree Xee well here you go then, they aren't even one of the best, they were pretty much a bunch of no-talent strippers who got lucky with autotune. And that is their leader, the rest of them don't even sing, so I don't even know how you can call them a "girl group" since they are pretty much backup dancers. So they aren't even one of the best. There are many more girl groups with real talent. There is Destiny's Child, there is TLC, there is Danity Kane, hell, there are the Spice Girls, and thats just four off the top of my head. So yes, some people are born stupid, and you are smack dab in the middle of that group if you think the Pussycat Dolls holds a candle to a real girl group.

Dylan Rees melody swartzinger and carmét were all verey talented singers. and Ashley, Nicole & kimberley were very good back round dancers and back up singers!

Dylan Rees actually they're all good singers (im not sure about 2 of them though), melody is the only one that could trump Nicole in vocals, those two were far ahead of the others, but Nicole being the lead was just the concept of the group haha. I liked Carmits (redhead) voice a lot in lives, she really sounds stable and great. :)

the problem is that she s know for beeing the singer of a girl group, mostly made of dancers, and between the many catchy songs and dance routines, what got lost,was that she always provided amazing singing performances,both on record and live.... since the pcd split, she hardly made it again on the charts, cause then the record companies were moreinterested in finding up the next big girl group thing, more than sustainig one great lead singer..... sad but that 'show the market works....
