Another cool video, thanks. I went to this event the first few years they did it and then about 17 years ago, my girlfriend and I took the day off work and drove down to Monterey to see the Quail only to find out they had switched to only selling tickets before event with no tickets available the day of. Haven't been back since, now save my dollars for Pebble Beach / Laguna Seca. Will enjoy your videos instead!

By far the best video and coverage of the quail, if not the best of the entire car week. Thank you Michael! Epic and so educational!

Great video coverage of this year's Quail! The caliber of Ferraris they had in the Great Ferraris class this year was the best I have probably ever seen at Quail. It was an honor to be able to display my Giallo Modena 458 and be included with these amazing, historic Ferraris. It was great chatting with you at the event.

Oops, forgot to comment. Wanted to go to The Quail this year but didn't recycle enough cans to come up with the quiche! Next year I'm asking Richard for a loan! Thanks Richard, another great vid!

Thank you. Richard 👌🍺, didn’t you notice Wayne Carini in the background when you looked at that none restored Jaguar SS 100 ?

Excellent erudition and fine filming of automotive jewellery, Richard. So much to like, it's tricky to be picky, but the unrestored SS100, the epitome of pre-war sports cars, works its magic, surprisingly surpassing the restored iteration. Then there was the overlooked DB4, the design precursor of all subsequent Aston Martins, with its superb simple, elegant lines and perfection of proportions. And the tour ended with second, loving look at chassis number four. How can the eye not be ravished by this E-Type, where every view, every angle is captivating? Enzo was right, and amongst the plethora of Ferraris there are some that get close to, but not quite touching the Maestro's declaration of the beauty of the Jaguar. Thanks Richard - you made my day.

You sir have most resoundingly proven that contrary to popular modern day cultural beliefs, gorgeous cars and beautiful women are not as rare as the world would have us believe. Nicely done !

Richard, the Morgan F4 reg DFV 439 , was a Blackpool . Lancashire registered car. so would have been running around Blackpool & Fylde and may have been seen by William Lyons or William Walmsley. Great video coverage, your arm must have been aching by the end.

Love the homage to 50's car shows, with the pretty girls in front of the cars in the beginning would love to watch you setting that up... my wife was calling me to walk the whippets with her, and I had to call out "I'm with Richard right now at a car show."

Why does everyone skip the Kellison? There’s a whole group of California car builders from the 50s and 60s that were doing beautiful bodies and they never get acknowledged.

Excellent presentation, but you skipped the TR! 😱 There is just too much to see that you can’t see it all. I’ve never been to the Quail. Maybe next year. I’ll sell a kidney. Lol

Hi Richard . Willy Wonka' Chocolate Factory on steriods ! Like yourself l'm not a fan of these "continuation " cars . The "e "type appeared to be in Opalescent Golden Sand . And my favourite has to be that Alfa Romeo 1900 C .......beautiful ! Thank you Richard .

How to wreck the looks of an E-Type Coupé (the é is pronounced on European models. American designs may well be associated with chicken homes), putting dreadful white wall tyres on such a sleek design.

37:20 "Awkwardness of the rear fins" is putting it mildly. Looks like Chuck Barris, or Gene Winfield got their hands on this ill fated Ferrari and had their way with it, if you know what I mean. Desecrating what surely would've been a voluptuous rear quarter with an incongruous slab sided scab. Yet another misguided attempt by European stylists thinking these absurd fins will attract American buyers. Same marketing strategy employed throughout the years right up to Koenigsegg incorporating jumbo sized cup holder quartet in his latest four seater.
@stephenscholes475810 ай бұрын
Have you never seen the Bertone "BAT" Alfa's? You're saying voluptuous is a stylistic virtue - others would disagree, including Enzo himself who famously hated "soft" designs.
@newbachelor56610 ай бұрын
You have great content, but you have no idea how to pronounce some of the brands, eg, Bizzarini, Porsche, Zagato, Pagani, Borani, coupé, (coops are for chickens) Vignale, Lancia etc.
@christinalloyd956610 ай бұрын
Thanks for a great video. I believe the TAG 911 you showed has a TAG Formula 1 V6 in it. Not sure why someone would do that but it takes all sorts! Loved the blue post war Delahaye.
