@@conniecarroll747I don't know about the book/s but if it is as you say, then the TV series is a far more realistic portrait of royalty. Members of the family rarely have a problem getting on board with the ideology that puts them on top of the world; psychopathy among royalty is the rule; not the exception.

Cersei Lannister is the end of humanity though and though, Olenna Tyrell is right about her being a monster of ruler and mother who is rotten to the core. Cersei only cares about is herself and power, While people says she cared about her kids but in reality she didn't really love them and she only love them because they're were her mirror image of herself and Jamie. She loves Jamie because he is boy version of herself and when he had lost his hair and his hand, she no longer love him because he didn't looked like boy version of herself. She loved joffery more than mycrella and tommen because he was closest version of herself in personality.

Idk that she did love joffrey more than the other two. In the show, she talks about how joffrey's actions shock her in their brutality. And she certainly didn't appreciate the way he treated her and threatened her. In the books, she expresses fear for tommen because he is not as headstrong as joffrey and he is gentle, but idt she loves him less for it.

Cersei is narcissism in human form. She “loves” Jaimie becasue he’s the male version of her, she “loves” her children because they are extensions of her (they don’t even love her back), she hates Sansa because she is the diametrical opposite to her, she hates Tyrion because he’s affront to what she is, noble highborn Lannister. She isn’t capable of loving anyone but herself and if she shows “love” for someone then she’s only showing love to the part of them that reminds her of herself.

This scene shows the man’s great weakness. He loves a ruler who has done unforgivable things to others. The old woman knows it will end. She killed cerseis son. He is stunned. She drinks the poison knowing cerseis son won’t hurt anyone again. The dragon lady kills Cersei who is worse than her father.
