What really made me set my headset down was seeing a youtuber getting java minecraft working smoothly on a quest 2 and when I went and tried it, it just wouldn't run smooth. Edit: 2 people have now told me to get a better pc. I'm talking about QuestCraft, which is based off of pojav launcher

I currently don’t own a virtual reality headset but I have found it very interesting since a young age. I hope that Meta will continuously roll out these headsets as more demand is put on them. I don’t think they have perfected the Vr industry but I know they will one day. I love your videos GetHip thanks for all the updates.

VR is in a better postion then it was years ago, but unless companies like Nintendo come in its been pretty stale, imo anyways, I think if Meta really want to give the quest 3 a secind chance at life more then the quest 2 they need to get rid of the mentality Xbox has been plauging the industry with on how they aren't needing to focus on games as much anymore cause the sales stem from gamepass

I'll be waiting a while before upgrading to see if they keep going down this destructive path. No point buying a Q3 if they keep behaving this way. I just hope Valve finally save the day with a new VR device.

@@skyyyuhhbe happy with ehat what you got and get most out of it. Have fun at least. I bought one myself a month ago. It isn't necessary to get the latest version of anything. But I get your feeling of being excluded. Think of that; if we get a quest 3 or something, it'll be much more enjoyable due to the privilege of fixed bugs already. Or maybe we can see the total disaster this is going to create without being affected too much. Less is more 🙂

@@lntcmusik still. It is gonna be way better. Bugs are obviously gonna be there bc this is Meta. If I were to resell my Quest 2 (256GB used maybe 4-5hrs), how much will I get out of it? I have the original packaging and everything. And where should I put it up ebay etc?

ngl, meta shutting stuff down without offering an alternative solution (such as an offline version that can be purchased for $5, or allowing EASIER sideloading) kinda gets to me I should be more hyped for the Q3 (as it'll bring in more Meta users in general), but if Meta is killing off their own games/services for the sake of... Horizon Worlds? I'm going to have to look elsewhere for a headset. I already didn't play games ON the headset itself, now I really won't. I love Steam VR so much.

i have actually had the quest 3 in my hands, it's considerably lighter and the center of gravity is perfect. everything that has been leaked is accurate. the lenses can be moved closer or further for glasses( that's what the button inside is for) , there's manual ipd adjustment like from the cv1 and the controllers feel ok but will suck imo for gun games. it's exactly what you see in the unboxing we have the exact same box, our unit has a not for resale sticker on it but that is the only difference. the resolution is vastly improved which makes older quest 2 games look better without modifications. other than the das headstrap your old quest 2 headstraps won't fit because the arms are larger.

love that someones already got a unit, btw does it have a super thicc facepad like advertised? also would it be possible to swap accessories like controller grips or rubber facepads over to the quest 3 from the quest 2 or is there too big of a size difference??

@@iceclaw557 the face pad is about the same thickness as before but it's much softer and is textured, the fabric reminds me of hockey jock straps lol controller grips probably work and facepads might fit since it's so close in size but idk

@@rangerkayla8824 it's not the same weight imo (15% lighter imo) and if it is then the centre of gravity is so good it feels lighter. and yes a strap and counter weight will make it perfect. the headstrap it shipped with is an improvement over the quest 2 due to the strap splitting in half on the back and the plastic adjustment pieces no longer hurt your head.

Another fun thing this last update added is that now my Oculus link doesnt work but it fixed the Air link connection, so now my Oculus Link basically recharges the Quest while i play lel.

If they improve greatly the delay of mirroring the desktop screen on the headset I would use the headset on a daily basis with my PC games (just like Netflix app for example, witch puts you in front of a very big screen) today it is a bit frustrating to play some games on desktop mirroring who requires low input response rate to play well (like FPS/Racing games). These updates are just screwing up the oculus games performance (I've used to play Eleven table tennis) and these new games just don't get me to play...

The V57 update completely broke the meta pro controllers on the quest 2. Tracking doesn't work. They need to fix this ASAP.

I really hope the performance issues don't affect PCVR or atleast hasn't affected it at all as that's my main Quest 2 use. It would really fricking suck if that happens, but I don't see that as a possibility as quest 2 and using a gaming computer are two separate things.

yeah I use my quest 2 for pc vr too more! But I doubt they will make performance slower through link, I think if they do somehow make the quest 2 slower, it will be through the snapdragon which shouldn't effect pc vr if you run a decent or high end pc like me with a rtx 4070/r7 7700x

I hate the new “tablet” appearance of the screens in your home environment. It’s too small. It also makes game/app previews tiny. I want the large curved panel back. Is there any way to change it back??

@@dan79080 There is! Click the time on the bar at the bottom (the dock? Menu bar?) to open up a quick settings menu. There’s a button there to toggle the display view from tablet to wall style.

as a person who literally only gets on vr to play beatsaber, i dont mess with any settings, i do see a small bit of controller lag but its not terrible, do wish they would actually care about their customers and work on the headset in a good way and not focus on deleting games from exsistence that had no problem being up, i used to play bogo, still have it downloaded, sad to see it go, seems like Meta has the same problem as Apple with making the product slightly worse so we will buy the new product when it comes out

Ever since v56 ive been gettting "not enough ram" errors and seeing games shut down. I was hoping v57 fixed it but it hasn't. I'll be getting the quest 3 on launch but i'll keep my quest 2 on hand just incase the 3's launch is butt cheese.

i was tweaking settings in oculus debug tool to actually getting air link pcvr to work for high end AAA gaming, so far able to play Modernwarfare 2 on steam thru pcvr with a ps4 controller no latencey just some flickering on big loads and dropping in. Prior to tweaking game and pcvr would crash when launching game. iTS NOT PERFECT EITHER but man its nice , not i am running a Nvidia 1660 Super oc

(My Q1 is currently my 'player 2' account shared multiplayer headset, my Q2 will slide into that spot when there's a Q3 and the Q1 will go to the nephews for wired PC.) Also: What lovely arms.

He dude great vids lots of info and fun to watch. I recently bought a Quest 2. But its impossible to connect to my PC. Ones connected it doesn’t show the confirm screen or anything else. Tried everything. But the strange thing is that when I look in device manager of my PC at USB connections it shows that the Quest 2 is connected end working oke??? So I go to My PC and it only shows the normal drives in and connected to my PC, Quest 2 doesn’t show. Do you have any ideas what the heck is going on and how can I fix this. Any help is appreciated. Not a quest 2 user, currently using a Lenovo explorer I got in March as my first ever VR headset but I had decided to upgrade to a quest 2 a couple months ago but then upon realising how close the quest 3 was from release made the decision to put it off and wait which allowed me to put a little bit aside each payday to save up to buy the quest 3 outright instead of afterpaying it as I originally intended to do, very excited for the release date announcement tomorrow, just hope it's not another 1+month wait and might wait an extra week or two to order mine to watch some early reviews of the headset as one thing I've learnt a lot about this industry since joining it this year is that every headset seems to be plagued by hardware and design issues and in a lot of cases some early adopters run into designs flaws and stuff that are fixed later on, so idk, very excited but agreeably cautious

Hey, you should spend the day playing with and commenting on headsets with each headset increasing in price startinf with google cardboard gear vr etc, then compare the dofferences as you progress

Ehum... so I just wonder, Is it safe to upgrade quest 2 to v57 or will it.... eventually brick the device? Im concerned that the "increase" in the cpu ans gpu tears down the device much quicker than its original cpu- and gpu-settings thus the need of buying a new headset...again...

wtf has happened to my quest 2 menu ui. I no longer have 2 white bars to adjust the size of both windows. now it's just 1 white bar and I can't move around my upper menu. it's so stupid.

I just love the idea that the stuff I paid for can be legally stolen :) No, I will not be upgrading from my quest 2. I just got into uni, and haven't played my quest 2 in months, which gives me a perfect excuse to not upgrade and give meta anymore money than they already have.

I just bought the quest 2 and it arrived today… Was it a good idea? I would of preordered the quest 3 but it was a bit out of my budget so i went with the quest 2. Doesn’t seem like a bad headset, i have seen lots of videos on the quest 2 getting outdated…
