Hi Billy i am glad to see that you are safe and well mate.and still putting out interesting and informative videos on fishing techniques. Obviously you will get a few negative comments by people who have no idea on how to fish.. But the majority will thank you for your help. Anyway billy keep smiling and putting out your videos..as the majority enjoy watching them.. All I can say is that I am one of the majority... Keep safe and well mate..

Hi Wayne. As it goes, some people enjoy this kind of content more than the fishing videos. But there's not as many of them, as the regular guys. And I believe that every channel needs content like this, otherwise nobody is growing or learning. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Hey Billy, I am in Norway for the first time, using your dingle dangle, rigged exactly as you do it and it has been fantastic. All the fish have been hooked in the front of the mouth making it so much easier to return them. Cod, haddock, coleys and ghost sharks! Thanks again for all the info - and Norway is brilliant!

Another very useful video thanks Billy. I found a great guy on eBay recently who will supply any length of Braid from 10 metres up, and 6Lb to 100Lb breaking strain. Ideal if you only want a short length to tie some Dingle Dangles! Store name is "Greight-stuff". Enjoy the Sushi & stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍

Scoop up a big handful of sand just below the waterline and see if there are sand fleas present. If so, you may want to fish for surf perch using the small crustaceans as bait.

Dingle dangle and circle hook is a great rig. Allows further casting, and resists pickers. I believe fish get pricked by a j hook but attack a bait on a circle without that distraction. I caught two Bronze Whaler sharks a couple of days ago and the hook was right in the corner of the mouth where it was easily removed and the sharks released. My Dingle dangles didn't survive though. 😢
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
Hi Red! That rig works on every fish I have caught on conventional rigs, except conger eels. But that's only because they feed differently most of the time. Fantastic rig! Thanks Brother 😁👌

Hi Niall. I have been fishing for them, but it's not a good time of the year! They tell me autumn is best. Most people target them with jigs and plugs. Fast jigs, slow jigs. Also top water. Thanks Brother 😁👌

So a completely unrelated question. Have you ever tried or had any luck using sea trout strips as a beach casting bait? Im trying it out this evening in Co. Kerry. Mine are salted. Reckon im wasting my time?

Hi bud. Not sea trout! But in the past I have had some success with salmon, I don't think there would be too much difference. I caught rays and dogs. Thanks Brother 😁👌

What would you thing about downscaling it for smaller mouth opening spieces? Would it be effective or a hair would be better?

Hi Billy, thank you for the information. I’m hoping to do some Bass fishing using peeler crab baits and want to try a dingle dangle, the one thing I’m not sure of is hook size what size circle hook would you recommend for that rig? For years I’ve only lure fished so have lost touch with hook sizes. Thanks again Billy
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
Hi William. As a general rule, the hook should always suit the mouth of the fish. For example, small mouth small hook. Bought with a dingle dangle you can get away with using a smaller hook sometimes. Because the Hook sits outside the bait, that way you can target more than one type of fish at the same time. But if I was targeting just bass of 4lb and up, I would use a 6/0 . Thanks Brother 😁👌

@@Billyfishing_watch Thanks Billy, I will buy those hooks and other bits, can’t wait to wet a line again. Good luck in Japan 👍

Hi Billy, why not just use thick braid and less plastic. Okay you will need to use elastic thread but I don't think you need the tubing or the beads for a dongle. Tight lines.
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
Hi bud. This is difficult to build a bait on a piece of string alone, tubing also protects it from the scissors I used to cut the bait away. There are thousands of people putting polystyrene and foam onto their base as well. Thanks Brother 👍
@94Wassup4 ай бұрын
Quick question...what is the elastic line you use to attach bait onto the dangles? Also does it degrade or eventually melt. Thx for the help.
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
What's up Wassup! I always use latex elastic, to prevent pollution. And also it works best! It is a little bit more expensive, but good products always are. If you keep the elastic clean, and out of direct sunlight. It will last for years! The brand is Baitex. thanks Brother 😁👌

Billy, you live in norway right? Or do you not? And can you do a tutorial on how to do a good bait rig for big fish from land? for example from a ferry terminal.
@Luke-jg2cp4 ай бұрын
Look at his past videos, and the South African big game rig, and pulley rig, he has loads of videos on those things and their very informative 😁
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
Hi Rocco. I live there sometimes. It is not important where you cast the bait from. If the fish are there they will eat it, so follow the link to the video and there is a bait demonstrated in it. Thanks Brother 😁 👌

Yeah you keep taking the words out my mouth, dongle rig hahaha l laugh but its quite irritating, there no such thing. Me l ve seen shore fishing in South Africa evolve in my 20 years of going there.Back in 2003 they used nothing more than. Single hook or two hook flapping patonosters. I showed them pulleys, loop rigs, Rig clips even , they laugh ed thought it was alien and unecessary. Man they were just coming to terms with breakaway leads only 20 years ago. Anyways within 3 years the younger generations changed all that, internets a wonderful thing , they would trawl online uk sea fishing publications and the forums for what we saw as normal in our uk competition scene here.They just adapted it to suit them. Anyways l diverse too much and babble on, always enjoy your craic mate we sing from the same hymn sheet. Great to see how its expanded the channel but l know its the quality content.. Think there was only around 100 subscribers when l signed up. 14k now well done and good on you buddy.

Hi David. Thanks for writing it eventually 😄 and the support is much appreciated! Dongle rig. I know how it started but I'll keep my mouth shut. Why do people think, if they change the name they can own an idea . thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
@jamiesmart90164 ай бұрын
Stick to a normal rig. Sea fishing is starting to follow carping people obsessed with what rigs people are using. If you know how to present a bait properly then rigs dont matter unless its to suit the ground your fishing over like pulley rigs for rough ground ect.
@Billyfishing_watch4 ай бұрын
Hi bud. The video is about the dingle dangle. And they don't work particularly well on a pulley rig. I use police for years, now I have changed this rig because it is better. Thanks Brother 👌
@George_Vargiamides4 ай бұрын
The dingle dangle does exactly that. It helps you to give a better presentation for your bait. And the dongle rig happens to be the right rig for dingle dangles.
