Thank you for sharing how to make these half square triangles. I remember seeing them doing it once on a video with Missouri Star Quilt Co. but you explained it slower and easier for me to remember. 🙂

Penny, maybe we don’t take the time and dig thru everything at the thrift store🤷🏻♀️ You look very nice, thinking pinks may be your color! Happy Memorial Day🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I loved viewing the quilts that your viewers sent in for everyone to see. Also this video on half square triangles is pretty awesome. This technique can be applied to various sizes of half square triangles which I think is perfect. Thank you for showing this video. next time when I'm going to make triangles, I'm going to give this a try. Looking forward to the next video as always.

Squaring up the HST's before sewing them into the block will ensure that you preserve enough clearance on the outside points.
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Yes it does 😊
@debbieott1076Ай бұрын
Wondering if it should be larger? So that you don't lose the points in the 1/4 inch seam allowance ?????
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Works out perfect. You can change the size to whatever you want though.

i LOVE THAT TOP YOU ARE WEARING! On the Elenor Burns quilt, it had stick on labels. I saw binding on the one stack of pieces. I haven't ever labeled my binding, but if my quilts go to a thrift store, it would be so nice for the purchaser. I accidently donated a quilt top with clothes and fabric scraps 2 months ago. I can't believe I did that. lol
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Oh no! Did you try to get it back? I accidentally donated something one time and they wouldn’t give it back. And it was right as I handed it to them that I saw it. 😭

I noticed u we’re careful when squaring up the block but then I wondered if I was to make this block and square it then sew this block to another block and use 1/4In it will cut off the points. What should I do
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Do a scant 1/4 inch. 😊
@dianafromaustralia3244Ай бұрын
I prefer “nested” seams! One left, one right - otherwise too much bulk!

Yes I do that too.

A quilt by Eleanor Burns ended up in a thrift shop? Why?? Guess someone has no idea who Eleanor is! I never find anything in thrift shops either! And antique shops where I live have great stuff, but nothing I want😳
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Maybe whomever had it passed away and the family didn’t know better? Not sure but what a great find! I wish I could luck up like that!
