I personally think green is the default color. I like to think that turning white when in pain is probably an unconscious response to pain so other RainWings can be alerted (if screaming doesn't) and help out.

I think if Turtle & Kinkajou had a dragonet, they'd name it Cuttlefish It's a sea creature that changes color & you can't tell me Kinkajou wouldn't name her kid somthing that sounds like CUDDLE-fish

0:30 I agree. Turtlejou is one of those ships I don't understand. Like, I get why people like to ship them, but I thought the whole point of the love spell subplot was that they didn't see each other that way. I don't hate the ship, it just leaves me scratching my head.

1:37 Honestly that is a good question. I’m not really sure on what the answer is. I think green is the default color, but then again when they are in to much pain they turn white. Though using the graphic novel 5. I think we see Kinkajou with white spots on where she was hit by venom. I think the white is just a response to emotion like how yellow, pink, and green are. So Chameleon would have never turned white if he was in pin because he lacks the ability to change. That’s just my 2 cents

i'm pretty sure that each rainwing has their own default color, like when glory isn't feeling anything she's usually green, with blue and orange and a little bit of yellow, and other rainwings like mangrove and liana are their usual colors. soo it depends

1:24 Green is their default, as it has been said that when a Rainwing hatches, its green. White signifies pain, so of corse their scales would be white when their badly injured.

Desert is hands down my favorite(Not because its Quinter, which I actually despise)!!!!! I've always been in love with your art, but Sheepie you're taking these Hybrid Fridays to a whole other level, I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!!! I wait all week for this and its always worth it! Edit- I actually think that Rainwings are born with specific colors, like Glorys normal Green/Orange/Red/Blue colors, and Kinkajou's Pink/Orange/Yellow colors. White is the color of pain and shock so that is why they turn white when they're unconscious. Also I think chameleon was just born in his shades of green, thats why he looks like that and can't change from those colors!

I'm pretty sure green is the basic color for rainwings because if you think about it, chameleon can't change color because of a deformity (I think?) and he can't get enough sun. I believe white is just the color for being in pain.

I actually don’t think there’s a default colour- I think they have their natural, resting colour which is unique to each dragon as with other tribes, but when they experience somewhat strong emotions they can change colours automatically, or make themselves shift to their chosen colour/s on demand

Next week will probably be the final episode, since it seems like there’s only three fusions left, Winterwatcher, Qibli and Kinkajou, and Carnelian and Kinkajou.

I think Rainwings turn white when in pain without trying to like with other strong emotions and have a separate default color that becomes visible when they are not using any color change, I'm not sure if they only have green scales or if that was just Chemeleon.

I think the default for rainwings would be green, bc white is the colour for pain, they don’t just turn that bc their in pain

It would make sense that RainWing scales default to green because that would give them better camouflage, so like, they're naturally colored to be able to blend in in their environment. Almost makes you wonder if newly hatched dragonets are green though! Great video, I really liked your designs for the dragonets! (ngl, especially Qinter's lol)

1:22 So, I think that rainwings are born with a original color, white is the color of pain, which is why kinkajou was like that cause her body was responding to the pain, chameleon was green cause that was his original hatching scale color, kinkajous original hatching scale color is pink and yellow, glory is green, blue, yellow, and orange. So if rainwings couldn’t change their color, they would be the same color that they were hatched with. That’s just my opinion 😅

Personally, I think white is the default color. The color of a dragon's scales is usually genetic. Chameleon was likely green because a past parent or some kind of relative had green scales. Of course, this can't be confirmed or denied since RainWings don't keep track of family members or relatives.

In Bellasuruses 130 facts mentions that RainWings base color is indeed green

1:39 to be fair, in colors, not light, white is the absence of color. So the default could be black, meaning every color together, or white, meaning no color.
