I think I would have flipped the raft on its side and cut a few cm’s off the bottom of the rudder so you could have kept some steering.

Did you ever saw rowers or kayakers race against sail boats on the windy day ? Dont know how they tricked you to accept those rules . But it looks like you had a good time anyway .Thank you Laura and Hassan !

Man sieht und hört richtig das ihr Spaß hattet. :) Die anderen haben zwar gewonnen, aber ihr wart das Team der Herzen. Wir freuen uns schon auf die Revanche nächstes Jahr. :) Die Schwachstellen kennst du ja jetzt. Ob beim update Kette oder Kardan oder ...? Wir sind schon gespannt. ;)

You could cut one of the gears off the back block, sometimes you can also take them apart (they sometimes have small screws on the back) or make your own single gear. Solid axle all the way through and weld gear to axle. I would also add a chain tensioner to the bike. Thanks for inspiring people.

The vane of the paddlewheel should always remain vertical. Right now they are lifting water when they goes up in the air. And that cost power.

I wonder if you could've set the steering to disconnect one of the wheels and power the other by itself, although that idea would probably also mean you'd have to spread the wheels out further, maybe attach them on the outsides of the frame instead of between the frame boards. I'm not sure how that could be engineered, but you have some crazy good ideas, I bet you could figure it out. 😉 Actually, this sounds a bit crazy, but maybe you could have a chain on each side of the back tire of the bike, one attached to each waterwheel, and then have some way of disconnecting one to turn. That could possibly also help solve the issue of the axle breaking, maybe? Maybe even have one person on the bike power each chain? #inspiredwordvomit
