And the people on the Warren Report could have been coached, etc. There is even a report that a woman said she was bullied and told by an interviewer that she didn't hear what she heard. I can't recall if this was on camera. Personally I don't have a final verdict on the event. I don't know if any of the others were coached, but I'm not going to assume they were.

The HSCA in the mid-latter 1970's reported a 'puff of smoke' and an alleged 4th shot on a dictabelt recording (later discredited). No 2nd shooter was seen, and no spent shells were found near the knoll. The HSCA essentially corroborated all the key findings in the Warren Report. I'm a math grad and what clinches it for me as Oswald being the lone gunman is the geometry and the head wound in JFK. His wound was in the front right forehead and back right portion of the head -in a straight line. Immediately before impact (per Zapruder film), JFK was sitting parallel to the car, i.e., head neither pointed to the left nor to the right, with JFK leaning forward with his head tilted downwards, almost looking at the floor of the limo. *THAT* position of the head would obviate a shot coming from the front or either side of the car, for obvious reasons. It's not possible. The only possible explanation is Oswald from the 6th floor. The geometry works. It's almost comical to hear conspiracy theorists point to the Zapruder film and say ' *back and to the left* ' to support their belief of a shot coming from the front or side; however, these same people say the film was doctored and edited. Well, you can't have it both ways.

Just me, but I don't think I'd try to shoot someone from the edge of a wide open area, when the wide open area is the only way out. Also, puffs of smoke. Rifles do not let go of puffs of smoke, just little amounts that dissapate very quickly, unless the shooter on the grass knoll was using a musket. Finally, that shot hits Kennedy as the fatal shoot. It has to come out the left side of his head, and might have even hit Jackie. Magic bullet. That would be only the went in the right side of JFKs head and disappeared in his brain.

@@shermbloom879 I've been there a couple of times. It wouldn't be hard running down the fence line, behind the knolls concrete structure and getting in a waiting car by the TSBD. A shooter would have had a lot of time finding the best exit route. There was a witness watching the motorcade from a rooftop that saw a man running full out from the fence towards the street behind the TSBD. He told the cops and FBI and was never interviewed by the Warren Commission.

No, they could be perfectly right, could be what they heard. It depends on where you're standing at the time doesn't it. You'll note that people who 'tap out' the shots from recollection also place two of the shots too close together to be from same shooter, ie, the shots were not uniformly spaced. And as for the 'echoes' theory, where are echoes MORE likely to be heard, on a small hill with a fence, or off tall buildings shaped in an L. The point being not everyone could hear everything, but those CLOSEST to the kill zone all say the shots came from right front, the fence, tracks or trees, which matches the video, and also the direction most people at the scene immediately faced when they heard shots or saw smoke. Even the lead Secret Service agent is looking towards the hill in the Zapruder film, as are those in closest proximity to the spot when JFK is hit. There's zero 'tangible' evidence that shot(s) came from the rear when you think about it. First shot to neck could easily be from front, the screw ups with evidence mean we can't know for certain, but what we do know is the huge disparity between initial Parkland doctor's descriptions, and what came out of DC a few days later about the head wounds. Thats still puzzling if not suspicious, and shouldn't happen. At every step along the way, there's a lack of normalcy in crime evidence procedures, to the point of being ridiculous.

@Owen Thorsen - just realized it was not a majority who disagree with the fence accounts, in fact, 2/3rds of the total number of witnesses say shots came from the fence, INCLUDING a guy named Truly who was the Superintendent of the TSBD building. He was standing in front of the building at the time and says he heard shots coming from "west of the building". The Warren Report doesn't include everyone who was interviewed, and particularly seemed to leave out those who disagreed the shots came from the building. When Truly is questioned about his watching the motorcade turn onto Elm St, it goes like this: "Mr. BELIN. All right. Then what did you see happen? Mr. TRULY. I heard an explosion, which I thought was a toy cannon or a loud firecracker from west of the building. Nothing happened at this first explosion. Everything was frozen. And immediately after two more explosions, which I realized that I thought was a gun, a rifle of some kind." So Truly is standing in front of the TSBD building and hears the "first" shot from 'west of the building', which is in the direction of the fence on the grassy knoll or the triple overpass, not from above his head.

It's been some time since I heard the Zapruder film, but I recall counting OVER 6 shots. I fired on a Rifle Team in High school, and fired in the State Meet. I know what a rifle shot sounds like. (They are not "echoes" in the film.)

I'd say that picture with the smoke under the tree is fake. Note that the picture is taken from a car driving toward the underpass and the cars in front are clearly nothing to do with the motorcade.

Warren Conclusion was reached long before Kennedy was even assassinated. The "final truth" is always "known" ahead of time.

When the President was shot - especially the head shot when there was no doubt he was hit - do you know where I would have been running? To the left, off the bridge, up the knoll, behind the fence, in amongst the trees to spot or head off a possible assassin. Why? Because that was the best location to provide cover for a possible shooter in my immediate vicinity. The other side of Elm St. didn't make sense.

It was not just the railroad men standing on the Triple Underpass who ran towards the Grassy Knoll. Deputy Constable Seymour Weitzman, who was standing on Main and Houston at the time of the shooting, said on 11/23/1963: "I heard three shots. I ran in a northwest direction and scaled a fence towards where I though the shots came from." He then headed to the TBD after someone said the shots came from there. Patrolman Joe Marshall Smith, who later said "I heard the shots and thought they were coming from bushes of the overpass." rushed into the parking lot behind the fence where he supposedly encountered a Secret Service man who showed him his credentials. Your position seems to be how you would have reacted if you were at the assassination site during the shooting, given what you've read about it, and my contention is your belief regarding what may have happened runs counter to many of the eyewitnesses' statements.
