It's Year 4 of the Madden 24 Saints Franchise. After two tough seasons forcing us into a rebuild, we're hoping to emerge as a playoff contender once again. With a new Quarterback and exciting offensive additions, could the pieces be in place for the Saints to compete for the division title?
My Franchise on Madden 24 begins with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints offer a unique challenge compared to any other team looking at their future cap space problems and aging roster. The Saints are not a bad team in 2023 at all. But their future could not be anymore problematic as cap restraints will cause them to move on from players, including some of their aging veterans they still rely on.
I aim for a more sim feel to my Franchises. I play on All Madden sliders that promote a more realistic play style. I have developed my own XP sliders to create a more authentic feel to Franchise in terms of developing young players and replacing regressing veterans.
This will be my biggest Madden 24 series, and I'm excited to get the rebuild underway.

I dont usually like these types of episodes because you can kinda tell from the moment it starts that its gonna be a loss. Takes away a lot of the tension and some of the excitement for me to be honest

With Canes sliders an 80 Overall is basically around the 20th best in the league. Outside of this specific game (with the idiotic rain scenario) I feel like Westbrook actually plays like he is supposed to: A big armed young QB, who has some issues with accuracy

Cane in this video: Bullet passes right into a defender instead of lobbing it, causing an Interception. Gives up a 3rd and 18 on a qb sneak where he was controlling the player and just didn't tackle the qb. Keeps Pearman in the game when it's clearly out of reach so he gets injured. Here's to hoping next week's game goes a little better lol.

@Dill_Pickle_6938 IIRC, Binns' X-Factor was already spoiled by a glitch where it popped up in the Focus Training menu. Cane was probably just trying to keep it something of a surprise regardless (the exact same thing happened with Treyvon Randolph in the Titans series), and then the would-be reveal got overlooked amidst the Saints getting hopelessly blown out and the video consequently shifting to a brisk past-tense recap. No need to be so curt about the understandable oversight, methinks.

Feedback on the style… I could almost tell we were gonna lose the way you set it up. Maybe wasn’t expecting 48-10 but I’d prefer not having any inclination whether we’re gonna win or lose either way. I prefer watching this as if I’m a viewer watching it for the first time where the commentary kinda reflects that. This style is more effective when we do multi-game episodes when we’re trying to rap up a lost season

Except that this video lasted pretty much as long as the ones before, defeating the whole purpose of editing the game down. I don't want to sound like a Negative Nelly, just pointing that out. I love the series, and how you try and make Madden as realistic as the engine will allow, but it drives me crazy how many times you have benched QBs across the years for mediocre backups, haha.

Kinda noteworthy to me that it's taken this long for the Saints to play another member of Westbrook's QB class. By this point in the Titans series, Brian Nava had played Joshua Holcomb twice, Kerry Ferrell once or twice (can't recall exactly), and would've gotten to play against Denver's Simon Clemons if Madden understood that "Russell Wilson sucking the entire first half" was just cause to let the rookie play. It's an interesting contrast!

@wheattt1 Obviously, this has absolutely zero bearing on the actual gameplay, but from a narrative/storytelling/whatever perspective, it also feels worth mentioning that Blake Westbrook hails from Arizona, which receives less than 1/4th of the U.S.'s average annual rainfall. Add that onto Cane explicitly headcanoning that Westbrook only started for a single year at Arizona State before declaring for the NFL Draft, and it’s not too inconceivable that you could count all the times he's played under the elements in his entire career on two hands or fewer. Again, that semi-canonical background isn't at all relevant to his actual in-game performance, but it is the sort of "Trevor Lawrence never loses on Saturday"-tier trivia I imagine would come up all too often on in-universe discussion forums and what have you.

Once again, Saints fans must be scratching their heads over the poor judgement of the teams' QB Room. In just the first quarter, Blake Westbrook managed to throw, not just one, but two interceptions. In each case, it was the judgement, or lack of good judgement on the part of Westbrook, that created the interception. For his very first pass of the game, Westbrook sent a ball out to his right as though it were a laser beam. Did he not even see the defender between him and his intended receiver? Why use a bullet pass with a defender, playing zone, between him and his intended target? Would something thrown with a bit more loft to the trajectory have cleared the defender and resulted in a completion? Probably... Westbrook's second throw to the wrong colored jersey came as the first quarter was counting off the last minute of the clock. It was 3rd and four to go on the Jaguars' 37. The running back was wide open on a swing or wheel route to Westbrook's left, his TE was fairly open on an out route to his right, and Westbrook elected to throw the slippery, wet ball twenty yards downfield to be picked off by a defender. When has Westbrook demonstrated pinpoint accuracy when making deep throws in the rain? Some horses are mudders, others (like Frank Loesser's "Paul Revere") are more adversely affected by rain. Based upon the poor accuracy demonstrated by Westbrook in this instance, we can easily guess whether he is a mudder or not. Westbrook would continue to miss open receivers through the second quarter, being replaced by Mayfield for the second half. Mayfield also managed to throw to Jag defenders during his stint in the second half. His first (note the spoiler in saying "first") interception came on an errant throw to a button-hook pattern, while his RB (Waters) was wide open with no defender within ten yards of him. Admittedly, the RB was behind the line of scrimmage, but there was ample open ground in front of him to at least pick up a handful of yards. A handful of yards is no bad thing on first down, ask any RB in the league, wouldn't they be satisfied with getting a 5 yard carry on first down? The second Mayfield interception was almost a duplication of Westbrook's first interception. With the TE on a flag route to the right, Mayfield rifled a bullet pass right to the defender playing zone between the QB and the intended target. Would more air under the ball on that pass have cleared the defender and resulted in a completion? Probably... Perhaps the problem is not with the QB's, but rather with the poor coaching they are receiving. Something must be done to improve the decision making of the QB's. My eyes turn toward the QB Coach and the OC.... The Jaguars' QB, last year's rookie Grant Woodard, managed to complete the game with about a league average Passer Rating of 95.8 (256 yds, 1 TD, 0 Ints. 68% completions) while the Saints' QB's combined for 142 yards, 1 TD, 4 (count them FOUR) Ints. and 47% completions. Their Passer Rating ran from dismal (Mayweather, 40.0) to catastrophic (Westbrook, 16.7). Westbrook only attempted ten passes, but threw interceptions for 20% of them. Mayweather threw twice as many passes, but failed to complete even half of them. Something must be done about the poor showing of the QB room. Some may excuse the dreadful performance due to the wet weather. But the real problem is one of exercising good judgement. If you need four yards for a first down on your opponents' 37, why throw the ball 20 yards downfield toward a trio of defenders when you have two options available throwing the ball shorter and (almost by definition) easier and more accurate throws? I refer to Westbrook's second INT. Both Westbrook and Mayfield made the same error of throwing bullet passes when something with a less flat trajectory could have cleared the defender and resulted in a completion for a first down. Longer passes are inherently less accurate than shorter passes. Neither of the Saints' QB's bask in their renown for accurate passing, yet neither made adjustments to offset the additional inaccuracy that came with the adverse weather conditions. Given that the problems are present with both QB's, I can only conclude that real source of the difficulties is the coaching. - sj

You have 3 series’ going at the same time. 1 game per episode will equate to 1 season taking 2 months. Need to increase to 2 games per episode at minimum. In your Cardinals franchise you talked about speeding it up, but we’re at episode 20 and still in season 2. I know you want to see all your players play, which is fine and good content, but a little more simulation wouldn’t hurt. In my opinion
