Had the pleasure of seeing Jamie as Christian in the OG UK cast of Moulin Rouge, his West End debut. He was phenomenal and at stage door just the nicest person. I think he has an amazing career ahead.

Well you can thank the legendary Paul Williams and also Ken Asher. They wrote these great songs. Paul has a cameo in the movie as the piano player inside the bar. 🙂

This is the best version I have ever heard. Jamie sings this as it should always be sung, love his expressions as well. He seems a little sad whilst singing this song as it is a sad song. Just brilliant Jamie. Thank you for gracing us with your voice. Make sure you don;t stop singing. You can't stop at this. Honestly you can't.

Indeed. I’d like to hear a Wiff do an incredibly poignant version of “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” The best rendition bar none was Ray Charles’. If someone could approach or surpass that it would be spectacular.
@PaleRider543 жыл бұрын
I have to agree. Among the Whiffenpoof renditions this is the best. Sam did a good job on it while in the '10 Poofs, but not quite as good as Jamie.

Yes, but as a long-time baritone I rue the fact that there are really no solo/spotlight parts for us anymore. Somewhere in the last 50 years the tenor range has taken over that role. Don’t get me wrong. They have beautiful voices. Sexy voices (and extra sexy if they’re cute too.) I wish I could be a cute tenor (preferably blond), but at least better than half of males are not tenors and it would be nice if our voices could be highlighted again too.
@okonh0wp2 жыл бұрын
@@inkyguy the person who originally sang this was a baritone? wasn't it the puppeteerr of Kermit the Frog who was a tenor?

Soulful. This is the version that a wiser, more mature Kermit the Frog would have sung after all of his adventures -- "the dreamy wistfulness of a short, green Judy Garland" tempered by experience, but undeterred. Love it!
