Not without Mustard is crazy. If Kendrick cared to make club records he could definitely do it.

Having a whole convo about kendrick not having club records, as an artist who purposely doesn't make club records.... Is wild. But im just at the beginning of the video.

The 5 year narrative is so silly. That happened 1 time because of the pandemic. In between every other album is like 2-3 years.

Facts. It got so bad after a while. I wanted to finish but couldn't. It basically turned into, I don't think Drake was treated fairly. I can't understand how Kendrick won. Everyone just hates Drake. Dude in the KC hat was basically heartbroken. 😂

it's hard to give too much of the credit for not like us to mustard just cause this is mustard's first number 1. I do think they made a nasty combo, but it does seem like kendrick brought mustard there as opposed to kendrick getting boosted by mustard specifically.

About 20 minutes in, and I kinda wanna give a different perspective on some of this I’m a much bigger fan of Kendrick than Drake overall. And while I agree Kendrick’s strategy was perfect to win over the masses, I was personally disappointed and have Drake winning. Kendrick “stepping on” family matters wasn’t very impressive to me, because it was so clearly a pre recorded song that he just had to upload. I don’t understand why that’s given so much credit. If he had taken 24 hours and dropped a clear response, to me, that would hit way harder than a precanned song 45 min later. And I think that’s kinda where Drake was at with the “drop drop drop” to “okay go ahead and burn out these other 5 tracks you got hitting the same exact angles and not saying nothing new”. Like, Drake clearly penned everything as responses to where the battle currently is. And to me, that’s a lot more impressive, especially when we consider that Kendrick started this fight. How long he been cooking all those tracks? Why didn’t he drop more after THP6?

On top of that, the whole fake daughter aspect… Drake would’ve been clowned to the ends of the earth if he dropped a song claiming someone had a secret daughter with no receipts, and then dropped that angle less than 24 hours later. It looks like an attempt to cover up the fact that you spilled fake tea and gotta clean it up now. Also, I don’t get why being “defensive” was a bad thing, especially when it wasn’t just defense. He flipped almost every angle against him into an attack of its own. I dunno. When I get into the weeds of this battle, Drake won almost every aspect to me.

I also think Drake out rapped Kendrick on this even though he lost in the end. Rapping skill, unfortunately, doesn't't always win. Nas got out rapped on Super Ugly, but Ether won. Pusha T got out rapped on Duppy Freestyle, but Story of Adidon won. Meek Mill out rapped Drake in his response, but Back to Back won. But Drake did get clowned for claiming that he planted the OVO mole, medication, daughter story, without proof. I disagree with the "stepped on" part. If Kendrick had waited 24 hours it really would have seemed like he was scrabbling and just made it up. Kendrick dropping immediately after played into the narrative that he was building. "Don't tell a lie on me, I won't tell truths about you" And he played into one of the best lines from Drake's back to back, "I waited four days, where y'all at". that was the first time that people started counting down the days between drops. So imo it was really impressive.

@@huare7946 I sort of get this perspective, even though I disagree with it. I don’t understand how Drake is getting clowned for the mole stuff, all that seems in his favor given what receipts have come out. Kendrick talked about a daughter that we’ve seen nothing about, lending credibility to Drakes narrative (despite neither showing receipts for it.) And the items in the pic seem to back up what Drake is saying about Kendrick being overly eager and not verifying where info is coming from. Some random items from a hotel worker goes further to prove drakes narrative that Kendrick isn’t fact checking, because like.. wtf does that show except that Kendrick took info from a hotel worker when he probably thought it was something more “serious”? If he had waited 24 hours to drop MTG I agree, but what I’m saying is if he had taken 24 hours to pen a killer response, that would be stepping on it. For me, I don’t get how dropping a pre-recorded song not addressing the current state of the beef was considered some big step. That isn’t what Back to Back did, imo. And MTG seems to do more to show Kendrick isn’t telling truths, again, with the daughter angle and still hitting on all the same angles for everything else, without doing the work to show why the narrative should be believable.
