Minus KD, Warriors have 19 combined All-Stars selections. Add KD, it swells up to 29. Raptors are only at 11. Lowry actually has more All-Star selections than Kawhi (5>3). Gasol has as many as Kawhi.

Sports media loves to overreact. Siakam had the game of his life. Near perfect. If Siakam had merely an above-average game of shooting 60%, the game would have gone into overtime. He luckily shot better than that. The Warriors were also +6 in turnovers, which alone could make up for the 9 point difference. These teams aren't too far off from one another without KD.

Siakam shot 82.4% last night. The last time he shot anything close to that was Game 1 of the Sixers series, when he shot 80%. The rest of the Sixers series, he shot 36%, 46.7%, 20%, 36.8%, 50%, 36.4%. On average, against the Sixers, he shot 43.7%. For the Bucks series, he shot 30%, 44.4%, 50%, 33.3%, 41.2%. On average, against the Bucks, he shot 41.5%. He had a bucket that bounced like 5 times around the rim before it went in. It was his night.

Kerr didn't plan for a defensed minded team. The Warriors looked surprised at the fact that the Raptors actually played defense . They're so used to playing teams who try to out score them . They may not be able to adjust to this.

Well, Siakam is more like Giannas from the bucks except he has a jumpshot, improving 3 point shot and spin move. Also, elite defender and capable of play making or passing the ball. He is a all around player, very athletic and a hard worker. He is also still very young and going to get better. Potential superstar! Spicy P! Masai is a genius! Let's go Raptors!

Raptors have been through a very tough path to get to the Finals. They've seen a lot. I equate this to an anime where the main characters get stronger after each battle until they are strong enough to beat the overpowered villain. That's what happened here. Kawhi needs to step up in game 2 and the rest of the team needs to keep hitting shots. Game 2 is a must win. Raptors can't lose game 2. If they lose game 2, then this is automatically a 7 game series. If they win game 2 then Raps can close it out in 5. Game 2 is must win. Nurse needs to make adjustments because it's not going to play out the same in game 2.

The Raptors supporting cast showed up & outplayed the Warriors. They were at home, energized & ready to play. This is the best defense they've seen in quite a while

When were the Raptors scared? This isn't the DeMar DeRozan and Dwane Casey led Raptors anymore. Raptors no longer just pound the rock into submission, play iso ball, and never make adjustments. This team is not comparable to the teams of the past. Its a much better team with an actual offensive playbook and defensive structure.

Just think about it, had KD not joined Warriors, how unpredictable and fun the NBA could have been in the past several years? Every season there would have been 3-4 teams as the championship contender, instead of Warriors as the single championship answer (unless they have injuries). The team could been defeated like what Lebron did in the finals, or even by Rockets or Thunders (with KD). That is the amazing NBA. With 4-all star Warriors winning it over and over, nothing is amazing. It is just the same show replayed.

@Name Herecorrection, Gasol and ibaka were acquired via trade. You do realize Masai Ujiri is considered one of the best GMs in all of basketball. He built this team without a single FA or a top 10 pick. Everyone was either drafted or shrewdly acquired via trade through parlaying talent that developed within the Raps system. You think pop would have gave up Kawhi if derozan if he was not the player he became with the raps. Fyi Kawhi ain't leaving but even if he did choose to leave, Raps would still be a decent playoff team but obviously not finals contenders without Kawhi.

I have no need to, just by being in the finals, the Raptors have already proven the world wrong by showing a true finals contender can be built without big FA signings. GSW are a great team no doubt and all teams are free to operate as they wish as long as there is no tampering or side stepping rules.

@Name Here I think you are missing the point. This is not about the GSW, who had their own dark decades before steph and klay. Compared to the rest of the league the Raptors are at a serious disadvantage being in a country that is not in the US. Common misperceptions about Canada derail any FA courting plus the fact the Raps have recently been too good to get top draft picks while being not good enough to be finals contenders pigeon holed them into a treadmill playoff team. With all these factors stacked against them building this current roster and getting to the finals is a huge accomplishment. Sure Kawhi's demand out of SA elevated this team but to pull off such a deal with all the unknowns took HUGE balls. You have to have respect for people that take risks like that, while being in a race with no shoes while everyone else got Nikes. I expected GSW to win last night but this series is far from over. Still 5 more rounds to go and its anyones series at this point.

Kawhi is one of my favorite players and I really wanted to see a good series that would put this supposedly unbeatable superteam to the test.

Toronto is winning this series. They got through the juggernaut which was the 76ers and The Bucks. The Warriors are obviously proven champions and a different animal, but I think the Raptors are the better team.
