This deck was built during early MD, meaning this was probably a returning player, 1 Maxx C, 13 card extra (to not lose to Banquet Burn), and 2 Cobalt Sparrow

Negated activations mean the card was not successfully activated which is why continuous/field spells go directly to grave, similar to negated summons. They don't actually have to destroy the card; they won't stay on the field.

I hate how the fucking whales from the Arc-v manga keep getting support while Light/Dark End Dragon are synchro monsters without any sinergy with LADD.

When continuous, equips and fields are activation negated, they go to GY contrary to effect negation.

More precisely, when the activation of the card is negated, they go to the GY. If they're already face-up on the field and activate an _effect_ which is activation-negated, they stay on the field. (negating activation of cards prevents them from hitting the field, in the same sense that negating summons prevents monsters from hitting the field) (edit - added emphasis to "effect")

@@engame1702 there's decks all about normal summoning multiple times per turn to tribute summon their boss monsters like floowandereeze, monarch, true draco and qliphort however they aren't particularly strong at the moment so temper your expectations a bit before jumping in

If you negate the activation of a field spell, it doesn't stay on the field; the field spell has to resolve.

The field card went to graveyard because it's activation was negated not it's effect, the field card never completely made it onto the field.

Reminds me of the time I used a ladd/laeveteinn combo to have an immortal monster. Iirc ladd nukes the board on death and SS laeveteinn, laeveteinn equips ladd from bin.

@TheDuelLogs DuelLogs: Yugioh master duel is correct with the rulling, even thought the card you activated is continous because it negated activation of the card, not the activation of the effect of the card. When the card itself activation is negated and it does not say where it goes, the card is not on the field and also not in your hand when the activation of card is negated, so that is why it is send to the graveyard since it can't stay in bad limbo. For the case of negating monster effect, then the monster would stay, it is only spell and trap card, also when it comes to spell and trap card light and dark dragon can only negated the activation of card, it cannot negated the effect activation of spell and trap card. But if it could then the field spell would already be on the field and negated the activation of the effect of that field spell card in that case the field spell card would stay. If you don't believe look at this your opponent activated half a pendulum scale, and you negated the activation the pendulum monster will go in the graveyard and not face-up in the extra deck since, it was not send from the field to the graveyard, it was send from bad limbo to the graveyard, while if the pendulum monster was already in the pendulum zone, and activated an ignition like effect, and you have an effect that negated the activation of that, and destroy it, in this case the pendulum would go face-up in the extra deck, but if it does not mention where it goes in this case it would just stay in the pendulum zone with the igniton like effect activation negated.

even when you activate a field spell, the card has to complete activate to remain on the field, if the activation wasnt succesful, the card is not considered part of the field, so it leaves it

I have no idea what you’re talking about with Swap Frog. As far as I remember, you could not Normal Summon Swap Frog with its own effect. You could Special Summon it by pitching Waters repeatedly, but that of course has a cost.

1:30 It would only stay if the effect was negated. The activation was negated. Entirely different. Ash negates effects, not activations. That's why Ash doesn't send equips, continuous, and field spells to the grave

If you play LADD with reverse trap, you actually have infinite negate sinc he will gain atk and def instead of losing it

i was testing smth abt LADD : -activate reverse trap (this turn, effect that reduce / increase atk def will be reversed) -summon LADD -if an effect activated, LADD negate it + gain 500 atk -the twist, in any ygo sim / game, LADD cant nefate anymore after that (dont know if this is correct ruling or sim bug)

@@satyayana1399 im not sure but even skill drain would resolve 2nd if you just activated it, I think only way out of this loop would be to activate skill drain or something similar in response to LADD triggering, which is kinda hard to pull off. which is why im glad they ruled it lol

@@tmac_56 activate a card (lets say it was skilldrain) , LADD mandatory so it'll negate said card (except card that cannot be responded and counter trap). if negated eff were a continuous. the neg would only last until end phase and the eff of the continuous would apply (if applicable) if multiple card somehow active and form a chain link (i.e a player got multiple cursed bamboosword + volcanic scattershot then use reversal quiz that obviously would negated by LADD. but quiz send user card on field and hand. and cursed bamboo + volcanic scattershot eff auto trigger if they hit gy by any means) LADD would automatically negate effect in the last CL LADD and appolousa work the same way. meaning, player can get around them by using effect as higher CL than them (i.e : card/eff used (CL1), LADD triggered as mandatory (so, auto CL2) , if at this time someone use eff it'll be a CL3 and it will resolve
