Yeeaaah, that always hurts to think about. All of the legendary engines that have been thrashed, if not totally destroyed, because they were plentiful..thankfully lots of 1 & 2JZ's are still out there, plus the 1, 2, & 3UZ's. Lots of B & K series left, endless LS's & LT's. I love the 1JZ/GZ/UZ engines the most. That and those sweeeet sweet AMC V8's, & Pontiac V8's. Flat plane Ferrari V8's in the Maseratis are so sick as well. Dude in town has a mid-2000's Quattroporté & it's glorious sounding. Aston V10's and of course Audi V8's & V10's are also choice! A great 426Hemi is epic as well, but I absolutely love the Chrysler 318 V8. Oh! And the Ford 289 & 302 (in a Fox Body Mustang of course!). Petrol head through & through right here! Oh yeah, Alfa's Busso, Jags & BMW's Inline 6, and the classic (50's & 60's) Ferrari V8's & V12's. Bellissimo!

It’s because of the way the awd system works. WRX’s need a different style driving to take advantage of the awd system. In WRX’s you need to setup corners to have the whole car in a slight powerslide throttling the power to obtain the perfect exit. Where the RAV4 will be more forgiving because it is front wheel biased giving the driver big error margins if the weight transfer is not correct.
@criticalevent

@@VanquishGlory First and second generation Rav4s have 50/50 3 differential AWD systems the same as the Celica GT4, the difference is it's built like an SUV and it can take more of a beating than a stock WRX which has tiny suspension components and no ground clearance in comparison. I've broken literally everything on a WRX including a sway bar. I can't even remember replacing a ball joint on a Rav4 doing the same events.

Great car! Love the idea! Actually the Toyota VVT-I engines are fully variable, not just on/off cam control systems. They have spool valves at the back (AZ) or the front (ZZ) of the engine's head that is responsible for the control. Range is 40° crank angle. They will provide better driveablity, and down low, it helps the charging system to come to life.

ethanol is cool for tuning and power, but it would be fair to say it has some serious drawbacks, especially when you dont drive your car often. It settles down and decomposes in a bad way in your tank and lines after some time, can clog up your lines, it draws water in and causes corrosion of everything that can corrode, it dissolves some rubber parts etc.

Way to go on these episodes… I’m a very old-time fan of mighty car mods but somehow I fell out of it… Even during the beautiful motor trend mighty car mod days… For some reason, I’ve been drawn back with the RAV4 episodes. If only we got the two door in the states.
