Quick question what if you cut the mountain plate for the motor the top one and did not cut the bottom one I accidentally cut the top one and not the bottom one if I cut both of them would I be okay.

I hope I'm understanding correctly, but it sound like you cut the top tab instead of the bottom and now you're needing to cut the bottom. This would leave you with 2 mounting tabs for the motor plate which I guess would technically work, but that will really reduce it's integrity. If I were you I'd probably give it some easy testing and see if it holds up, but you may end up replacing the housing.
