In this video, I go down the rabbit hole to unravel one of the biggest horological misconceptions in the last 20 years. Although it's not a secret anymore and if you wanted to know the truth, you're only a google search away from finding it. I was so intrigued with the fact that all this time, I thought Christian Bale was wearing a Rolex in American Psycho but turns our he was wearing a watch pretty much anyone can afford, a Seiko 5. He was wearing a Seiko 5 SNXJ90.

The only reason I want a Rolex is because of Patrick Bateman. I think it would have done more good than harm letting them use Rolex in the film.

I agree. They should have let them use a real Rolex but seeing it was a Seiko all these years later is pretty cool.

Yeah! I can see the Day-date bezel which most Seiko 5 has and the 4 o'clock crown and the Seiko 5 stamp/logo on the dial Pretty interesting

I've become a big fan of vintage day date seikos. The only negative in my mind is the crown being at the 4 position, it's not a deal breaker but I wished thay wouldn't. I almost didn't buy the GMT because of this. I love my orange dail GMT but everyone I look down at the watch I'm thinking dam that's looks funny. And my second point is why don't thay make the day dates with a screw down crown, is it how thay save money because it seems to cheaping the watch and the brand as a whole. But with that said seiko makes a dam good day date I will continue to wear. As always great video 👍

I mostly bought this watch because I'm a fan of the movie. I'm also speculating that it may become a collector's piece one day and it kind of already has started to becoming one.

I do wonder why they didnt use the SNXJ92 with the golden dial. It would have been a better match with the Rolex imo.

@@TheTimekeeper nope....., in Chinatown honalulu. A guy down there has lots of vintage watches I payed 169.00. He also has a vintage day date croton I almost bought it

@@TheTimekeeper please don't review an invicta, because I won't buy one of them. Thay have never put a watch out that I like. I think it's because thay have way too much branding on them. But I do like the 1957 submariner
