2:20 Abdominal pain explained
13:30 What causes abdominal pain?
20:23 The three main causes of abdominal pain
22:09 The best remedies for abdominal pain
23:13 Check out my video on intermittent fasting!
Typically, when you go to the doctor for abdominal pain, you’ll get a diagnosis, and tips on how to manage the symptoms. They don’t usually give you a lot of information on how to fix the root cause.
Nothing I say is meant to diagnose or replace your medical care. I want to give you information that you can think about regarding the potential root problem of your abdominal pain.
A few lesser-known things that can lead to abdominal pain are:
1. Low hydrochloric acid
2. A bile deficiency
3. A problem with the pancreas
4. A lack of enzymes
5. A lack of friendly bacteria
Other common abdominal pain causes:
• Food allergies
• An intolerance to certain foods
• Sensitivities to certain foods
• Enzyme inhibitors
• Antinutrients
• Inflammatory foods
• Synthetic fibers
However, the three main root causes of abdominal pain are:
1. Frequent eating
2. Grains and seed oils in your diet
3. Antibiotics and other medications
The best things to do for abdominal pain:
In the upper right quadrant:
• Take TUDCA on an empty stomach
• Take bile salts with meals
In the upper-middle quadrant:
• Take betaine hydrochloride (unless you have an ulcer)
In the upper left quadrant:
• Consume more raw foods
• Take an enzyme
• Decrease insulin
In the mid quadrant (for SIBO):
• Consume more garlic
• Consume more oregano
• Do intermittent fasting
In the mid-left quadrant (for kidney stones):
• Drink lemon water
• Drink at least 2.5 liters of fluid a day
In the lower quadrants:
• Consume fermented foods or a probiotic supplement
• Eliminate dairy (for the prostate, uterus, or ovaries)

About four years ago I started belching and farting constantly. After telling my doctor I was diagnosed with a stomach bacterial call Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) that can led to cancer if not treated. I was prescribed antibiotics for this. It’s now four years later and now I’m having the same symptoms with some abdominal cramping and blood was found in my recent stool sample. I’m waiting for a scheduled appointment to see a gastroenterologist (HMO’s and referrals suck). Please keep me in your prayers. 🙏🏽

Now I feel so much better..my goal is to eventually lose 10 more pounds and get down to 160. I didnt consult any doctor before I fasted because I'm not on medication of any kind. Your timing is impeccable with this video! I was just in the ER again on Friday with unbearable upper right quadrant pain (this is the third time in the last few years and it was the worst episode to date). They diagnosed me with biliary dyskinesia and sent me home without any info on how to get better. Just take Tylenol and follow up with your primary care. So frustrating. I've been following you for a long time and have been trying to reverse my autoimmune issues and heal my NAFLD (which my primary care doctor shrugged off as 'normal', BTW) with healthy keto and IF (started back in March). I also have MTHFR and am recovering from DRESS which is making my recovery pretty tough. Since I started following your advice, I've lost 50 lbs and my health is slowly turning around. @@davida7559 He did say 80%, not 100%. What do you mean by 'eat super healthy'? If you have anxiety whilst doing regular meditation and yoga, I'll guess you're plant based (apologies if I guessed incorrectly). An animal based diet significantly reduces anxiety, so one option is to eat much more meat. Another is that you're eating your food too quickly, or not chewing enough. Most carbohydrate digestion happens in the mouth, so chew well. Good luck.

I agree with Doc Berg with the exception of doctors giving a diagnosis. This is absolutely incorrect. Doctors do not give diagnosis anymore. They either tell you they can't find anything or they give you a made up label like IBS which does not exist. IBS is not a condition. It's a made up label by lazy MDs that don't do their job and find the root cause of the symptoms. Alot of times the symptoms are the result of imbalances in the microbiome or from infection that was not properly treated by the doctor. Chronic stress and hormone imbalances also cause the symptoms

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your thorough presentation. I am helping my Dad who is 93 and had a peptic ulcer when he was younger and had his gallbladder removed. Ever since then he had been on antacids twice a day. He ended up with bad arthritis, Spine surgery, bad knee, vision problems and now dementia. After all these year’s doctors are always compartmentalizing issues and write people off due to age. We found out it creates many vitamin deficiencies especially since he takes meds on top of everything so we took him off the antacids, giving him pure carrot juice, aloe ver juice, colleges, D3, magnesium, iron, b complex and a multivitamin. We also give him coconut oil. He is slowly improving. I am mad though that his condition should probably not be this bad. We need to change mainstream healthcare. I don’t appreciate doctors who blow off looking at the whole picture. I appreciate you arming us with information.

In the early '90s, I went to two top rated hospital in Southern California and was diagnosed with IBS. The specialist and dietitian never efficiently explained to me on what to do like how Dr. Berg does on this video. Around that time, I almost got fired for taking 2 days off every month for menstrual cramps coupled with my IBS back then.. I took birth control pills which temporarily resolved the problem but I went from a size 8 to a size 16 in 4 years even though I took them briefly. Finally, I found a doctor who listened to me and a fibroid was discovered and was in my body since I was a teenager. We need more real doctors like Dr. Berg to be completely informative.

Thank you for explaining how our digestive system works Dr Berg. Throughout my life I have been to a doctor and also taken family. I feel it's a rushed consultation, the patient wants to find out more info, wants to know how to incorporate their usual diet to deal with symptoms or help at least. Some doctors will explain what's happening with your body, it's something your mind can't envisage in that limited time. The doctors should offer an education session like this to all their patients, it will eliminate half the mental anxiety. We have to prompt them to ask about food and natural supplements, exercise, etc.

We need more of you on this earth. Thank you so much for educating us on our daily life questions. I recently went to baja Cali and I casually heard a conversation between two women. One woman was handing the other woman a medicine that she takes and highly recommends it. The other lady ask what it does. The other lady answered by saying it’s suppose to help you feel better. (Bloating/abdominal pain) I honestly wouldn’t take the medicine. I would look for other alternatives. In my case Dr. Eric has broken down my mistakes in my eating habits with his videos. Thank you so much for giving your time and effort to show us other methods of healing ourselves.

For five years, I suffered from intense pain in my lower right abdomen. My doctor subjected me to a ton of testing, but was not willing to look at diet. After conducting my own diet tracking and elimination, I determined that coffee was causing the intense pain and diarrhea. I think that coffee is accepted as a normal part of our diet, but can have an intense impact on our digestive system including inflammation. I eliminated coffee, and all of my symptoms went away. I appreciate Dr. Bergs perspective and perhaps non-Western approach.

Thank you for all of this information, I think it’ll change my life. You never got back around to digestive issues with diabetes and would love additional information. I am a type 1 diabetic whose been suffering from debilitating abdominal pain for the last 15 years. When I started repairing my digestive system my insulin tolerance became incredibly sensitive to the point of almost not needing insulin anymore. It was scary due to the constant severe hypoglycemia, which ultimately made me stop self treatment and let my abdominal pains take over again. Any additional advice would be incredible.

Love your channel, Dr Berg. Helps me to learn more than what my doctor can tell me about my pain. I have suffered with IBS since I was 18 years old and now I'm 43. I have tried to eat healthy the last few years (with the occasional binge!) All this time I thought I was eating the right foods, turns out I'm not! Apart from the usual fasting or keto diet, both of which you can't do forever, is there an eating plan you can suggest for certain ailments that could guide people to make the right choices at the store? I have done a bit of digging into vitamin and mineral diets, IBS and GERD diets but they all seem to clash with what you say.

I have never had a McDonald's burger! I don't do fast-food in general, hardly drink soft drinks and processed food is very minimal.I enjoy listening to Dr Berg but would never go completely keto as I would have to wipe out half of my favorite recipes from home I have have been bought up with. But I do go without food for at least 15-16 hrs and try to eat less carbs. I don't suffer from anything eating like I do but I always know how much to eat and when to stop.

This is exactly the info I was needing. The slow digestion and bloating. I’ve been doing something like 21/3 or even better but after too big a dinner plus a celery stick with peanut butter I was cramping but unable to release any gas. Last night my body released everything so I decided to fast all day then only eat 1 hour had eggs, cheese and bacon in butter olive oil. Went light on my ab workout and still did my 7000 steps plus drank slightly less lemon water and my stomach feels much better. Bought zinc today so taking that with 1 small glass of lemon water. I believe I was over eating, drinking too much water and eating too much fiber. Just chilling and going light on things and back to high motivation keto burn. 34 days today with a couple tiny sugar ingredients mistakes. Also tried keto pre made bread loaf and had horrible heartburn from the starch in it. Who needs it. Get my vinegar from sour kraut during dinner and kefir with berries for healthy gut. Thanks Dr Berg
