On Friday the 13th of May 2011, The Desert Dogs hiked to Beveridge City, a ghost town located deep in the Inyo Mountains. They approach from the west side, in Saline Valley.
In the previous episode, they took a wrong turn, ran over a gopher snake, and got their vehicle stuck. After resolving their situation, a few hours later, they finally find their way, but not without using up plenty of gasoline. But they've already passed the point of no return, and have resolved to continue their journey.
This film is dedicated to all people who enjoy a good adventure.

There was an U.S. post office in Beveridge, California from October 31, 1881 to June 5, 1882 located in the John Beveridge mine. William C. Krisling was the postmaster.

We were on that road up towards the snowflake mine one month before you were there. I left my blue shirt at that mine on the ridge at 5,000 feet. We made it up the 4 wheel drive road with an old Toyota pickup, but only after I convinced the driver to deflate the tires to less than 10 psi. We parked at the Snowflake mine. We were stopped in April of that year because of the high winds at the ridge at 5,000 and the snow in the distance. I've been to Beveridge four times but from the west.

Dang it... I'm not surprised you didn't make it. I know a group of people who hike there every year and I am invited to join in every year as well. Too much for this old body but they go in from a different direction and I am sworn to secrecy about it. Two gallons of water is a lot to carry. You also need to know when your vehicle is not up to the job in mind. Sorry to be so critical but you guys blew it on this trip in almost every way possible. Glad you made it back safe and sound.

@mobiltec You're right, and something tells me your friends come from the west side, through a pass which 'has not been remembered'.

I think we may have run across that shirt the second time around, or the remnants of it. I should have filmed it.

You'll see in the last episode of "Up Inyo Face". My personal life is halting the progress of the videos. I actually have quite a few more to make after!

Andrew Perry Having a (personal) life is a good thing. The recession had me sitting on my ass for 5 years with plenty of time to explore , but NO $$$. Now it's plenty of $$$, but no time. It's either feast or famine in construction. But I always have time to live vicariously through the Desert Dogs video's. Keep 'em coming.
