I moved to Houston 12/15 with my boyfriend. All we had money for was 1st months rent. Didn't even have money for food but we made it. I transferred my job from ny hometown to Houston so work wasn't a problem. I had friends I went to school with that lived there but no one I could really count on if needed. My boyfriend and I ended up breaking up for 3yrs and he moved back home. So I was there on my own. My kids were grown so I didn't have to worry much, just how I was going to make it. Times were rough but I made it. I lived in a great area, Westchase, my apartment complex was quiet and I loved it. I met some great people there which was hard for me, I'm an introvert with an extrovert personality. I loved my time in Houston, however, I got sick and needed help so I had to move back home 6 months ago. I miss Houston and hopefully I can move back soon. I'm 2 1/2 hrs away.

Took my 401k and moved to Houston almost two years ago. Best decision ever. Didn’t know anyone and was truly a trying experience.

What’s your experience with finding your apartment with no rental history? I have a very good credit score but no prior rental history, and I’m afraid apartments will see me as a risk or require.
