Marvel didn't expect AND didn't want Black Panther to be as successful as it did. That's why they have trouble with writing Blade for the MCU. They know what we expect but they want to try and trick us into paying to watch a movie where Blade is the side character in his own movie in his MCU debut. They want to push feminism so they want to get his daughter in it.

of course they did. They want you to beg them so they can still say no. Coogler and moore have no shame. but i guess it's called playing the game. And unfortunately once again so called black folks allow themselves to be played. The actors don't get a pass either. When you are given access and you don't use it to help the group you are a lame. The studio knew who pick because they knew you would be a traitor to your own. They are nothing special just tools that will soon wear out and be discarded.

I don't mind that they didn't want to recast, but I just can't fathom the idea of killing off an iconic character like T'challa. Paul Walkers death didn't stop Brian from still existing in the Fast and Furious universe.

So the actor that brilliantly played Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) passed away and is now recast and played by Harrison Ford. T’Challa plays a pivotal role in marvel events yet they decided not to recast and take him out of all other media he should have been in.

Not to mention what they're doing to Blade, they know that Marshela Ali will make Blade a big impact in the MCU, so they delayed his movie for 5 years and counting .... and no talks on what they plan to do with Luke Cage. All the "Big" black marvel characters are being put in the back burner. Falcon/new Captain America does not count to me, because he was a side character who is now being put in the front, and given a movie, but he is not as big as Black Panther, Blade, or Luke Cage. Neither is War Machine, both side characters being displayed in the front. This got to stop.

Even though Westley Snipes is still alive and trolling Mostly because he sees the same BS objective by Disney. The Blade Franchise saved Marvel just like Black Panther was the Highest gross project in the MCU. They want to control us and hate to need us. I didn't watch not even on bootleg the wakanda forever. Very powerful and definitely on point. However, not to disagree or dispel any of these pertinent details. Respectfully, in Ryan Coogler's defense, his original script for the sequel was something of a full circle story to where Tchalla was now dealing with both loss of time after the snap and having to learn what it is to be a father, once he was aware of his son. Ryan gave Chadwick the script shortly before his passing and it's stated that Chadwick was pleased. Sadly, Ryan, like so many of us wasn't aware of the severity of Chadwick's condition. I'm pointing this out, because while I can't say definitely what really happened, I don't want the idea of the decision to not recast, rested on Ryan Coogler. I believe he and possibly Nate Moore were in a sense " thrown under the bus," to allow Disney to save face. I wholeheartedly support what our Brother and Chadwick's big Brother, Derrick's as well as this forums conclusion, that it's not in the power structures best interests to continue the legacy our Beloved Brother both planted and cultivated. Rest in Peace Chadwick.....our T'Challa Forever.

Great observation with this video! I didn't even realize the parents from other heroes were present. And like many people in the comments, I concur as well that they have a difficult time writing male and female black characters. This is why image is so important. I'm still pissed to this day that they didn't recast him. It was one of his last requests before he passed and they totally disrespected him. They knew they could've recast him but chose not to.

Good Video. I would have put more emphasis on how T'Challa was nerfed moving from comics to MCU. MCU T'Challa had no SUPER GENIUS no they gave it to Shuri. Opening Wakanda not his idea anymore that is Nakia. He also wasnt a tactical mastermind or possesing of much edge.

All excellent points being made by the video My take, however, is that the movie version of the character in the actual comic books are nearly identical to that of Eric Kilmonger of the film If anyone looked at versions of the comic book character, especially by the writer, Christopher Priest, the king of Wakanda was a ruthless monster with the charm of a diplomat. That series directly took a character who was essentially a B list avenger and made him a cunning, ruthless monarch, who only interacted with other kings and rulers across the world. They also put out there front and center even in a comedic way that the United States and all of the other NATO countries had a “friend/enemy“ relationship with the fictional kingdom. They openly said that that country in the comic books was more sophisticated than even the most side. They made their warriors the most , physically killers on the planet. Then, since that comic book run by Christopher Priest, marvel has been dismantling that ever since. In my opinion, the movie was one of those attempts to destroy that character. They also had horrific writing by the person named Tahi coats or whatever his name is. They turned his kingdom from a, theocracy dictatorship which it was, and which all strong kingdoms across the world are and made it some sort of democracy, which is nonsensical because anyone who actually lives in a democracy know that is crap and is full of corruption and often when African countries are made to be democratic, it’s a way for outside capital to control that country and it’s the only reason why countries force western countries to be democratic because it is the vector of imperialist control over that country and all countries. I wish that everyone discussing these issues could articulate similar points as well as the exact points. I’m mentioning in this comment. I don’t need a goddamn fictional, comic book story to validate anything about my life and nor should it be for anyone else. But I do recognize their fear of empowering people through media and images. I understand that even the choices of actors they find, those actors had to sacrifice a little bit of something to even be considered (Chadwick Boseman was the last actor I would’ve ever cast for this role. I have cast the model/actor of the film, the Amistad in Djimon Hounsou. Or maybe Chiwetel Ejiofor. Chadwick Boseman was this milk, toast representation of that character. This is why people feel bad for the impact. His death has had to his family and friends and people who admired his work, but not to the point where they do some sort of masonic numerology ritual that they were never be another black panther film proclamation. That is why they’re doing it by the way. When it doesn’t make sense and they don’t listen to the demands otherwise otherwise, default to that being their reason. No one is that unresponsive to market forces unless they are enthralled into occult style practices where they can’t let go of date, numbers and timing. The trash that they put out on the second Black Panther film, where the man as the character died off camera instead of in battle is even more of an insult. I’m surprised they didn’t even kill them off in the comics the way this thing has been going. The destruction of this legacy started way before this film ever happened. And they are even scared of this water down product.

Not recasting will always be a mistake, and i always say that mistake must be resolved by reviving the exact same version that Chad played. I don't understand how someone can be a #recasttchalla supporter but at the same time you want them to (soft) reboot the franchise to introduce a "new real-T'Challa". It doesn't make sense to me. At the begining of the 2010's, Marvel decided Black Panther was one of those less-known IP's that had to be adapted to the big screen, because of his importance in the comics universe. At the moment THE MCU-616 ITERATION was decided to be introduced on Civil War (2016) and the development of his first solo film began, the character was planned to get an extensive narrative arc for more than one phase; just like the OG avengers, the guardians, etc. #RECASTHEREALTCHALLA, #RECASTTHEMCU616TCHALLA

I believe everything you say and more. The whole MCU has been weird every since Blk Panther hit the theaters, nothing has been the same. Heck, they shut down the whole world in a panic. NONE of the shows have been the same. We've been given a taste of excellence, we can't go back to eating trash. Blk Panther did light a spark, a spark they are trying to extinguish. They've NEVER not recast a Superhero, no matter what. They claim it's out of respect. Or is it out of guilt? If there ever was a franchise not to touch after someone passed, it would be The Crow. I think your take is too conspiratorial to take seriously. When Chadwick died, the grief was palpable and it was too soon to entertain a business decision about where to go with the character. This was the black sentiment. As time went on and we started hearing rumors about Siri becoming the Black Panther, many black people didn't like this and decided they'd rather have a different actor play T'challa rather than have him die. There are too many capable black male actors out here who deserve the chance to get the role of a lifetime and experience their big break like Chadwick. But Wakanda Forever happened, and unless we go the multiverse route, there is no more T'challa. I think the director and writers thought they honoring Chadwick but really did the story a disservice. Replacing Chadwick is not disrespectful; it's embracing reality
