I agree that a Freddy vs Jason vs Ash would have been an awesome and badass horror sequel if done correctly and not rushed. But to be honest, 20 years past is a bit late. I mean, it might still work, but if Robert isn’t interested anymore, then that is the last nail in the coffin in my book. Oh well, at least we got the comics. So in a way, we did get a sequel after-all.

As far as a new Freddy goes, I thought the guy that played Freddy in the recent Dylan's New Nightmare short film did a great job, I'd be happy to see him play Freddy in a feature but I would assume studios would target an actor with name recognition like a kevin bacon who to be honest probably would be great as well.

Sorry horror fans but the truth is it really doesn't matter what actor plays Jason. Any stocky goon can play a silent masked ghoul. Its like Darth Vader--James Earl Jones' voice *was* Vader, not whoever wore the costume. Conversely, Robert Englund is the definitive Freddy, I cannot envision another actor bringing the same charisma to the character.

If Robert Englund really hung up the hat and claws Freddy should be done in live action. We learned the hard way what happens when someone else plays him. That’s like saying it will work to have someone play Ash Williams. No thanks.

Another reason why it never happened was rights issues. Sam Raimi was the one who owns Ash Williams and any movie rights to the character. But by 2004, Raimi was working on the Spider-Man trilogy and making box office records, so clearly he wasn't gonna licence his character to a studio he wouldn't have any part of. (Hell, when he found out the prop for the Necronomicon was stolen and appeared in Jason Goes to Hell with Adam Marcus's fanfiction level writing that Jason was a Deadite, he was furious.) And he wasn't gonna let the crossover happen if Ash won. A compromise New Line Cinema wasn't gonna let happen. When reminiscing about the crossover, Bruce Campbell said at a convention "You think after they made 98 of those stupid movies, they're gonna let it all end right there with Ash taking Freddy's head? You don't know Hollywood. You think Paramount's gonna let the whole Jason series die because I chainsawed him and cut his head off? They won't let that happen, so there's no reason for me to be in it unless I can kill both of those losers." The final nail in the coffin came during 2004 thanks to Sam Raimi producing The Grudge, which made huge money. Raimi decided to use the momentum of Sony's success to announce a remake of The Evil Dead, one that wasn't like the 2013 version and had Ash. Completely shielding any possibilities of using Ash if Raimi was using his baby for a potential remake. And in 2006, a remake for a Friday the 13th was announced. Killing any hopes for any sequel.

I personally don't know that Ash would have been a good fit to add to Jason and Freddy. I had always thought to really ramp it up, there should be a Freddy vs Jason vs Chucky vs Leprechaun. At least I thought it would be an interesting take, pairing Chucky and the leprechaun as their own rivalry and last "little man" standing faces Freddy and Jason.

I have always been Interested in Seeing The Remake Version’s of Freddy Krueger Played by Jackie Earl Hayley and Jason Voorhees Played by Derek Mears in Film Together. Even Though The 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street wasn’t good as The Original Film but Jackie Earl Hayley Truly did an Incredible Performance as Freddy Krueger and he Deserves a Second Chance at Playing him. The 2009 Friday The 13th Remake was Truly Amazing and Derek Mears did a Phenomenal Performance and if they do these movie and Derek Mears Doesn’t Get a chance to play Jason I would be Pissed.

Robert deserves to rest. He’s done an amazing job, so I do think he doesn’t have to return as Kruger. Obviously you can replace a classic actor who played as a beloved character. But trying a new version isn’t a bad thing, but it was the 2010 reboot that tarnished the original. Still, if by some miracle Nightmare on Elm Street makes a comeback (which is doubtful), I’m all for giving it a try.

They need to try another reboot/prequel for Nightmare on Elm Street: a movie that shows Freddy's back story while he was still alive. He was supposedly a vicious child ******, but how did he get the dream powers? That's how we tie it into Evil Dead and the Necronomicon. (In my version) Freddy was using dark magic rituals to enter into the dreams of his victims and "groom" them into being into being willing to do what he wanted to them. Here we would see a younger, unburned looking Freddy terrorizing the local community for several years before ultimately meeting his canonical demise at the hands of the Parents. A followup sequel would show undead dream master Freddy terrorizing a new group of victims. Ash and the Evil Dead series would tie directly to Freddy when we see Ash researching the case of Fred Kruger to see if he was using the Necronomicon while he was still alive. While researching, Ash would discover the new victims and their similarities to the old Freddy case, thinking something evil is afoot. The movie would end with undead dream master Freddy and Ash having some kind of show down, that would result in Freddy going away (until the next sequel) and Ash learning that the Necronomicon has since moved locations and is no longer in Freddy's Grave (he was buried with it). In a post credits scene we'd see Ash pulling up in his car to an abandoned Crystal Lake, tying in the thread of Freddys Mother using the evil book to revive her son. A Jason reboot would also be necessary to establish the presence and use of the Necronomicon in the franchise.

If Robert England doesn’t want to come back. With todays Hollywood make up, couldn’t they just get someone to play Freddy with makeup effects that has the classic look? I mean Trick or Treat Studios make some damn good Freddy masks, I’m sure Hollywood could do the same. Maybe even have Robert come in do voice acting for the character.

I heard a great idea for a different sequel idea from JoBlo Horror KZfaq channel. Take out Ash Williams and plunk in Charley Brewster from the Fright Night franchise. The story goes that after all these years Brewster has become a great monster hunter, sometimes bungling his way to wins over evil creatures. William Ragsdale is the perfect age for an Ash Williams "stand in" who is actually a fully formed character of his own.

Bruce Campbell, acting like anyone takes him seriously, to begin with.

2 ideas 1) Freddy vs Jason in animated form so Robert Englund could still play Freddy without going through the hours of makeup and fight scenes or 2) Freddy somehow gets Chucky to help him cause of Chunky's skills in Voodoo, so Freddy can not only get revenge on Jason but so he can start his killing spree again. In this day and age, surely there are ways of having wes craven play the role with a stunt double doing all the physical work. Plenty of close ups, CGI placing WC's face onto the doubles body. His actions can be mimicked, but the voice and the face is unmistakable. There's plenty of Freddie and Jason movies I'd happily pay to see if WC is the star

Honestly I say make the sequel an crude looking animated film. That way we can have Robert England back with harming his older body (if he still wants to) and possibly the other actors without people arguing why they look too old or complaining they unjustly recasted the roles.

They could do an animated film with Robert England and Bruce Campbell voicing ash and Freddy or they could recast Freddy Jason and Ash and have a deal that makes them owned by the same company

I actually thoroughly enjoyed the Friday reboot. I don’t think anyone besides Robert Englund can play the slightly comedic Freddy. Any reboot has to go super dark imo.

For a remake I think animation will be best with the real voice actors, with lots of blood,gore and sex. No holds bar.
