I never went to my husband's funeral.i couldn't face a traditional funeral so I opted for a direct cremation. Grief after him passing has been a rollercoaster of emotions..we where married for 52 years. I can understand buddy's wife not going to buddy's funeral and having a miscarriage through shock because of his death. I had a miscarriage myself both situations are terrible.

My friend called me and told me her cancer wasn't responding to chemo and that she didn't have long. I planned a trip to see her, she called shortly before I was supposed to leave and told me she'd be gone before I got there. She told me that she knew a funeral would destroy me. She told me to save the money I would spend on the trip for my kids. She was gone the next day. And just so we are clear.....funerals are for the living, not the deceased. I certainly wouldn't judge people for missing my funeral....I won't be there either.

This beautiful woman went through enough losing her husband and her child, but to now insult her by comparing her to Yoko Ono, the nerve!!! She is nothing like Yoko Ono. She's a beautiful woman who's keeping the memory of her husband, whom she loved very much alive. She did what she had to and I for one so God bless you. And I'm so sorry for the losses you've had.

Pity about all the inaccuracies but just want to add my humble tribute to the rest. Buddy Holly was and always will be my musical hero. I first heard Peggy Sue when I was around 14 on a battered record player at my local youth club. It got me started on guitar and given me a modest living and a huge amount of enjoyment over the years of singing and songwriting . I still love finding the right words for a particular subject but I can,t find the ones to describe what you did to my soul Charles Hardin Holley. I agree with Don Maclean . It was ' The Day The Music Died '.

The song was “Peggy Sue.” “Peggy Sue Got Married” was a movie made in the 1980s, long after Buddy’s death. It took the girl’s name from the song, and was about nostalgia for the late 50s-early 60s, but that was its only connection to the song. SMH.

My M.D. grandfather also held them BOTH there with a United States Federal Marshal who took photographs of Buddy’s “Grieving Widow” BEFORE she was off of the table. Not only do I have the paperwork, but the ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS. She wasn’t left in Buddy’s will-his parents were.

She’s personally screwed his hometown, my home town of Lubbock Texas around every way she could, to personally enrich herself to the maximum potential possible anytime someone here mentions his name. Doesn’t matter what we want to do to Honor Buddy. Mara comes first! Mara Elena is a truly awful, awful person. The pilot was a guy who had been let go from a lot of jobs. He was incompetent for flying at night, but his boss was negligent for letting a rookie pilot not experienced at instrument night flying take off in such marginal weather. The weather enroute and at destination was marginal and deteriorating so its likely they would have crashed from wing ice or too little visibility to find the airport to land. Its unreal the callous disregard for safety by these clowns that were incompetent air operators. Im only a student pilot but i can see gross bad judgement and incompetence.

Their love story reminds me of mine and my partner. Buddy knew the moment they met that she was his one. My partner knew the minute he saw me that we were going to be together and 10 years later we are still together and he is my best friend and love of my life. When you know you know. There was no heat in the bus, and Richie had a bad cold. So he flipped a coin with someone, I think maybe it was Waylon , and won his seat on the plane. Otherwise Richie wouldn't have been on it. It's very sad for them all. They were so young and talented. Prayers 🙏 for their loved ones. For grief knows no time table 😢.

I never knew all these facts so glad I watched this. I was born in 1958, but I grew up with Buddy Holly through my brothers. Heard my brother play his music all the time and sing his songs with his guitar which he taught himself. People have done it though and, their marriages have lasted quite a long time! However, it sounds like the narrator might be wrong because, under the same token, he said, Buddy flew her out to where they would live to Lobbing, Texas! I’m guessing it might have been 5hrs after she arrived there, could be wrong in saying, that, but, I’m just guessing!

None of it is true!!! These "LIES!" & "RUMORS!!" Came from the "🐴" Mouth!! None other than "Peggy Sue!" She has "ALWAYS!" been "JEALOUS!" of "MARIA ELENA!!" In fact Peggy Sue wanted Buddy Holly for herself! But that "NEVER HAPPENED!!" LOL!!! 😆 And as far as Buddy Holly's brother's & parent's are concerned Buddy Holly was a big boy he chose not to go visit his "Family" (obviously that's why they disliked Maria Elena). Well! don't blame that on "Maria Elena!!!!!" That was Buddy Holly's "DECISION!!!!!!". Which that tells me "Buddy Holly" must have not been close with his "FAMILY!!" (Immediate). Buddy must of had his reasons! One's family doesn't know "EVERYTHING!" about their family members!!! "COME ON!!!". Why not if u know, you know, I married my late husband 2 weeks after meeting him, lasted 34 years, when he passed away suddenly & I get why Buddy's wife couldn't go to the funeral. It's been 5 years for me & I still can't say my husband's name without tears flowing
